Pull your glow plug and check to be sure it did not burn out… That is what happened in my Dad’s M813A1. The 809 series trucks use a weird system with 6, 12, and 24 volts!
M1008/M1028 CUCV Side Boards with Troop Seats - Free to a good home!
They must be picked up in Marietta, GA. From what I remember the metal is in good shape. The wood that is there needs to be sanded and painted. Side board wood is complete and in good shape. Maybe eight or so of the small...
derby,
I would estimate the road speed to be about 60 MPH at 2100 RPM (max. for the engine). We haven't clocked it yet. The PTO installation involves bolting the PTO to the transmission then installing the shift linkage and drive shaft. It's not hard to do. It is possible to have both forward...
M1075,
When this truck was overhauled by the Marine Corps in 1991 they upgraded it with the ISO bed, locking differentials, and super singles. When my Dad purchased the truck from Ryan Gill, Ted's Trucks had put 11.00-20 NDCC duals on it. When I said "changing to the proper configuration of...
I have a friend in Arkansas that owns a deuce wrecker that came from the government with a multi-fuel engine. Were there ever any manufactured with a multi-fuel, or are all that are out there conversions?
I may have misunderstood this, but is anything changing about the transfer case or PTO? I don't remember reading anything about it being changed. Also, that 1700 RPM was governed engine speed for a gas engine and the old transmission is 1:1 in fifth, right? Fifth gear was used when running the...
According to this web page, 5th in the 3053A is 0.85.
http://www.garbee.net/~cabell/transmission.htm
Take your desired output (1700) and multiply it by the overdrive (0.85) and you get the required engine RPM, 1445.

Polverone: Yes, that is a 1966 Chevrolet C-10 in the background that my Dad restored. See attached picture.
Ok guys, lets see if we can get some correct information on the Mighty Mite...
Hi Ryan,
Yes, Dad is very proud of his new truck. Now we need to add a winch with cable tensioner and level wind plus super singles on combat wheels :) .
I hope you enjoy your truck, I know it will be a good one for you.
Actually, I have heard of some goats with Chevrolet small block V8s in them! It has a standard GM SM420 transmission, so getting them together would not be that much trouble.
True, aluminum does not rust, but it turns into a white powder and blows away or falls off! That can be worse than...
