IMHO THIS IS WRONG.
New Venture suggests 80W90 weight gear oil ever since the np205 was released.. The military starts using the np205 in the M1031 and others and changes the reccomended fluid from 80W90 gear oil to ATF.
I would be interested in learning about different models and types of military radios used over the years and their availability to purchase, Im watching auctions on ebay and have notifications from ebay when certian radios are listed.
The stud holes in non dually trucks M1008, M1028 M1031 (all eight of them with the 8 x 6.5 bolt pattern ) have a different ID (inside diameter) than the rotors of trucks with dually rear axles M1028A3.
What about this do you not understand?
The stud hole size would matter when attaching the...
Dont know if you have considered this but the rotors from a m1008, m1031, m1028 are different from a dually m1028a3 truck.
The rotors from a m1028a3 have smaller stud holes than the m1008 etc front rotors. I have the book if you want the stud hole dimentions.
Its ok I consider myself the king of thread hijacking so you would have to do alot better than this to best me in that respect.
as to cost that would depend on what You have presently....as I understand it the 84 - 87 cucv has a small trans to tc bolt pattern so IMHO you would need the late...
Since the box in question makes the transmission transfer case assembly longer and I would assume you are planning a upgrade from the np208 to the np205.
The only reason I would assume and or suggest this is if your spending almost 2000.00 on a ord magnum box or anyone elses doubler I...
There is a crossover of a fashion civilian 1 tons and crew cab trucks and or trucks with diesels had fig 8 or race track patterns np205s in them from sometimein early 70s to 87 in trucks but burbs and crew cab trucks had them until 1991 dodge trucks used them until 1993.
Cucvs however used...

I gutted the automatic system as I did not desire to have a complicated automatic system that always needed attention.
My modifications to date have worked fine and I dont have any issues..
The simple relays I have used have 4 places for wires to hookup, 2 for power ie 1 pos 1 neg... wires to...
I put a std relay in the cucv trucks I own that are still diesel 2 out of 4 and I have had no problems with them...Ive always thought the orginal system was way too complicated and made it much more simple with just a relay and a momantary switch..
Just hold it for 5 or 6 seconds and turn the...
That item is a little different than you posted in the first post...Since the front axle does have u joints in it it would be safe to assume you wanted a u joint from the front dana 60 axle but from the picture of the front driveline I see that is what you want the U joint for is this correct...
And I suspect the reason for the difference in sheave sizes on the same pulley has to do with the ability to tighten the belts and have them have the same degree of tightness and to be able to run at one rpm on the same system.I experienced a fun time when I deleted the drivers alt when doing a...
This thread is all about mods Ive done to my M1028 over the years and currently and hopefully a accurate timeline of those mods from memory...
Bought the truck in about 1995

For quiksilver1j a guide to getting your tc apart and back together.

They are simple but knowing a few tricks cant hurt.. Ive used this web page in reassembeling a few np205's It was very helpful when you have parts laying about and dont remember / didnt take pictures of how this or that...
If the pto thats being talked about is the one that came on the np205 in the m1031 it most likely wouldnt be the correct ratio for a splitter pump operated either direct mount or via a shaft to a remote mounted pump.. From memory of the m1031 pto its a 180% drive ratio.. If the OP would list...
As to the twin stick mod on the np205 The danger is only there if you pull the shuttle pins that keep the tc from going into front low and rear high or the opposite... you can twin stick it and not have issues just dont pull the shuttle pins one in the front and one on the rear they run the...
The 4bt would be interesting..Ive been looking for the correct clutch fork from one for months no joy this far but im not finished yet and dont give up easily. One of the reasons I dont feel the 6.2 or 6.5 is up to the chalenge of a twin turbo setup is the bottom end...I dont know for sure but I...

Their mentality about telling the op to search is akin to teach a man to fish feed him for a lifetime etc.
