Yep I know.... since july of 2010 I bought an M1009.... 2 6.2 takeouts from hummers, two M105a2 cargo trailors & now this M1031. Next I want an M818 Wrecker really really bad, & then a much coveted Duece. I'll be saving up my nickels for the next perchase. I've got that green iron desease BAD...
Well on 2/11/11 I won a M1031-AG010 shop maintanance contact truck. The E.U.C. cleared in about two weeks, & since it was fairly close to home, I figured I'd just drive up to w.p.a.f.b. & haul it home on my car trailor. I've got a 82 gmc civi long fleet 4x4 D.D. that I've had forever & pulled...
If you have a drain plug in your tran.s pan, just drain some out......If you don't... just take out the modulator.... it's only one bolt, but Prepair to get red.... seems like I always do. :-) John
I bought two from G.L. for $150 each. The shipping cans they came in were 540 lbs each & worth more than that. I plan on making a woodstove for my shop out of one & an engine test-running stand out of the other. John
Yep.... I'm 53.. 5'6" & I'm still hoping for that growing spurt that will let me join the NBA. rofl (G.L. also charges a 10% buyers premium & you have to pay state sales tax in whatever state the auction is in) I just won one a few weeks ago for $2503.... after G.L.s fees & Ohio 6 1/2 %...
I got my E.U.C cleared for my M1031 in 15 days. Time for a little roadtrip with the car trailor sometime early in the week. It's only 228 miles but I'll trailor that rascal anyway. I don't much care for surprises. My name is John... & I have a "green iron" addiction.
COOOOOOOL.... just like dads. They grow up fast. At that age they want to do everthing they're super-hero dad does. Make a point to spend some time with him now cause he's working on memories that he'll have when he's my age. (in my 50's) John :D
THANK YOU...... much appreciated. argueing over the internet is kinda like wrestling with a pig..petty soon you're out of breath, covered in mud & find out the pig really enjoys it. You'll have to get you're entertainment elseware. John
I want one of those in the worst way. I don't have a single use for one, but I NEED one bad. I have a 69 c-30 that I've had for 13 years, & I absolutely love it.... but I NEED an 816. :p John (nice bridgport too.. I was a toolmaker all my life)
Yep.. it sure is.. but I'll haul it home on a car trailor anyway, & it'll give me the chance to inspect & go thru everything before I even try & drive down my driveway in it. My trucks hardly ever konk out on the side of the road. I don't text ,tweet, twitter or any of that stuff, heck I don't...
I don't spell so pretty good all of the time either, but I'm 53 & feel that it is extreemly rude for some english teacher to correct me (ESPECIALLY ON A WORLD WIDE PUBLIC FOURUM). PLEASE don't do that. This is an informal, information gathering fourum where like minded individuals can ask for...
I KNOW... It must be how those crack addicts feel.... GOTTA HAVE THOSE GREEN TRUCKS!! This site is a wealth of information. I'll learn something about how these things work yet. THANK YOU John
If they have generators installed in them, GL ussually states it in their ad. Some of them have been scavanged out of them before they reach GL & most of the GL representatives don't really seem to be overly knowlegable about the trucks that they're selling, but all M1031s came with a np205 t/c...
Yes .. I think sortof.... meening they all came with a np205 t/c (for the pto abuility) & dana 60 limited slip in the front & 14 blt. corp. with det. lockers in the rear. The 1031 came from the general as cab & chasis trucks & the army put shelters on them to fit their application. This is a...
