Well.. I've decided I'll put in a dedicated engine oil cooler & do away with those cheasy-looking factory aluminum oil lines, by having some one piece hydraulic hoses made up to do the chore, while I've got this radiator out for replacement. My plates & insurance comes due at the end of this...
It is a little intimidating... but I will get thing little wireing problem figured out. Theres NO WAY.. I'M GOING OVER TO MAMBY PAMBY LAND. Now I need to figure out how to properly read these schematics & figure out how to operate this new multi-meter. I'AM CAPABLE OF LEARNING HOW TO...
NO actually it's a "weldbuilt" boom with a P.T.O. driven winch. I've got an 85 C-30 4x4 dually sitting there, that I am going to put the chasis under the wrecker. It's a 69 that I drove here when I moved 2340 miles, from Carson City Nevada , TOWING a 72 short fleet project. Good last trip for...
I will get this rascal ready mechanically to run (without making a mess), take some better pic.s, try & trace these wires & report my findings back tomorrow afternoon. THANKS AGAIN. John
THANKS..I will put in the new radiator & finish installing the inline remote oil filter that I'm putting in my trans. line, so I can start the darn thing anyway, providing I can make it work. John
I will go out in the shop in the morning & try & get some better pic.s so you'll have a little better idea of what I'm trying to say. Any kind of electrical stuff is not my stong suit... to put it mildly, but I'm capable of learning. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. John :lost:
I'm going to take every electrical conection on this truck apart, clean it, & put dielectric grease on it... & I think I will install a couple of battery shutoff switches in this sucker. JUST IN CASE :) John
I didn't hear anything.. but I was a good 40 feet away from it & just walked over next to it when I smelled smoke. the first thing I thought of was to look up at my house (about 75 yrd.s away) but it was the first day nice enough, that I didn't have a fire in my woodstove. I kinda figured you...
NOPE I didn't touch it HONEST. It was just dumb blind luck that I was there. I hadn't been out in the shop for a good three weeks prior to that. I've been searching & scouring every scrap of info. I could come up with looking for an answer. I didn't want to come off as a dumbsh!t looking...
I have to agree... I'm 53 & had a stroke & brain surgury about 20 years ago, so I took the vow of poverty & retired. I've been here 5 years & live on 27 acres of woods out in the mountains. My kids are all grown, & I just live here with my 2 dogs & play with my old trucks. I'm 1/2 mile from the...
My OH-9 has been hibernating in my shop for about the last 3 months & it's just been too darn cold to work on it. It's a work in progress that I picked up in august. I bought new glow plugs, injecter nozzels, new radiator, a momentary push button, uprade starter relay (under the dash). new...
YEP...it's one heavy sucker. Pulled it 230 miles home up into the mountains with my 82 1/2 ton 4x4 chevy with over 1/2 million miles on it. That old truck made it all the way into my driveway before she finally gave up the ghost. Had to walk the last 150 yards. I went out the next morning to...
Groundhogs???? Woodchucks???? Badgers??? If God grew it, I'll stew it. I BAR-B-QUED up a woochuck for a memorial day cookout years ago. It was good. I de-boned it & called it mystery meat. Everyone liked it... but no-one could guess what it was. shoot... I'd...
It's a 2001 4600 with a 460 front end loader. It seems like it's 43 horse 3 cyl. diesel. I made up a set of forks off of an old hi-lo. They are great for picking up logs & pallets & stuff. I don't know how anyone can get along without a tractor & an old wrecker. John
That old girl don't owe me a thing. I thought about selling it... but it would just break my heart to see some young kid destroy it. I'm just going to retire it next to my shop & start it & drive it about a mile once a month to keep the battery charged & everything lubed. It deserves a gentle...
I'm a single old man.... already raised my family, & have been single for 20 years... my two dogs don't care what I drag home... as long as I feed & pet em. Kinda wish my exwife would've been as happy to see me everytime I came home.... shoot... I'd probably still have her if she was...
I was there at about 1300 hours. Musta just missed you. They sure had some gorgeos trucks on the lot didn't they? I haven't even dug the driveshaft out of the back yet to inspect it. (been raining big time here all day & it's still on my trailor) Andrew (the G.L. rep) (both the G.L. reps were...
I don't have any right now, but I've had at least one set of B.F.G. all terrain radials on 1 of my 4x4 trucks since 1979. They are great wearing, quiet & very good gripping. The B.F.G. mud terrain tires work great too. They grip better, but seemed to wear faster. & were a little noisier on the...
