Won a mio31 today wi. Under 1100 miles

I'm hoping it's just surface rust.... but I have a complete rust free clip off of an 85 parts truck just in case. Ya just gotta have them parts if you mess with these old trucks very much. For now I'll just be checking the GL. website twice a day for my euc to clear Battle Creek, so my recovery...

It's a pto driven generator. These trucks have a np205 gear driven transfer case witch has a pto transmission bolted to the side of them for powering accessories like winches, generators, hyd. pumps ect. The air compressor is powered by electricity from the generator. I'll either pull the...

    TH400 filter change

I like to put a remote oil filter inline on my trucks tran.s line. It sure makes changing the filter a snap, doesn't cost much & has to filter the tran.s fluid about 100 times better than that glorified screen. Also I tend not to put it off till next weekend. Im basically a lazy sh t. :D John

    motor replacement

Even if you had to go out & buy every tool to do the job, you'd still be money ahead to do it yourself. Nothing majical. Now this computer..... DIFFERENT STORY... I'm convinced theres some majical stuff going on in that box. ;) John

would these work in a cucv

Did you use the header type exhaust manifolds (humv type) that came on them in your M1009? Just wondering if they will fit. they sure look like they would flow better. :?: John

    Service Done dates

When I got my M1009 back in aug. I was under it changing the oil & saw the date scrawld on the filter. It said 4-17 & I thuoght... great... only a few months. Then I Turned it a little & noticed it said 4-17-06. But the miles were written there too, & it was only a couple of hundered miles since...

    Registering M1009 in KY

Don't forget that if it's an out of state title you need a VIN inspection. i had to have a sherrif deputy come out to the house & insp. mine. They are pretty heartless & want.. no.. make that need your money. If in doubt.. call em. John

This "moon sand" is killing me...need "other" cleaning ideas...

I had the same problem with mine, mostly on the undercarriage. I figured mine was stuck in some very deep goo, & left underwater for quite a while. I had 1/2' thick hardened sand-mud mix on top of my frame rails & all the way to the top of the turn signal housings in the front. All four wheel...

It seems like they ALL are don't it??. It seems like if I bent 10 or 12 in a row with a hi-lo, a little light bulb would go off in my head, & like to think i would impliment something a little different. IF YOU ALWAYS DO.. WHAT YOU ALWAYS DID... YOU'LL ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU ALWAYS GOT. It dont...

Won a mio31 today wi. Under 1100 miles

Thanks. The M1009 already had the lift & big tires on it when I got it, with the stock 308 gears. definately a weak link. The 456s ought to push this bout right. I figure on putting the corp. 10 bolts under the M1031 & removing the box, gen.set & compressor & replacing it with a p.u. bed or a...

Won a mio31 today wi. Under 1100 miles

Yep.. me too. I broke my back about 35 years ago, & need bucket seats. All my trucks have em. I'm good for about 30 miles riding on a bench seat, unless it's one of those fancy sculpted seats. The buckets in these series of trucks aren't the most comfortable.. but they'll do. I'm stoked now...

Looks like this ones only about 225 miles away, so it's ROADTRIP with the car trailor. Didn't think I had a chance but...

Is this supposed to be there?

I'm new to diesels.. but I've been working an gas motors quite a while. I've been lucky I guess.. cause I've never bought new t.c. bolts in mu life. Never had a failure of anykind.. ever. But than again I've been known to reuse head & crank bolts two. Luckily none of those ever failed either, &...

    Registering M1009 in KY

I sure did. I'm down in Somerset. Just about 6 months ago. They tried to charge me prop. tax on $5680.00. Mine is an 84 M1009. I bought it from a feller down in Fla. & it had a Fla. title. You have to download a special form from frankfort, have the sellers sighn & notorize it. In my case it...

Any one here ever drill drain holes into the rear seat recesses?

I took my rear seat out permanently. The holes around the brackets were packed with sand & dirt. I painted them with P.O.R. & welded 1/8 plates over them & put a 1" thick rubber mat down back there. I didn't figure I'd use it much. Now I won't for sure. jOHN

Is this supposed to be there?

No... you will not lose any fluid by just removing the t.c. bolts & yes it is a drain hole. They are on every one. John
