I have searched and read and can't find the answer. I see where people talk about issues with balancing hummer wheels and tires. What is the issue, the tires or the wheels?
I picked up my first trailer this weekend, M1101 with hummer tires and wheels. Wow those are definitely a lot larger...
I am the last person to give advise. I was told after I installed my manual switch, that I might not hear the click. I can let the glow plugs go out and then flip my switch and I hear nothing. The switch light comes on, but that is it. My switch is only for a back up.
Update,
Back in August, I ended up taking my truck to a mechanic because of the oil leak I mentioned on here. I couldn't use the shop and do it myself because dads tractor in in a 100 pieces. It ended up being the timimg cover. I had him go ahead and replace the fuel pump as well...
I live west of Atlanta in Villa Rica and for the past couple of weeks I have seen several CUCV's going down some back roads. Just curious if any of those guys are on here?
Mine would fire up for about 5 seconds and then die. Then like you said it would take 30-40 sec to get it to fire off. Then everything was fine. I put a spin on filter on mine and haven't had a problem since
No I haven't heard anything back. I figured they probably used stock 16.5 GM wheels. I just checked again and nothing. Let me know if you hear anything on your end. I am just trying to find 9.00 x 16 tires for less than $300 a piece
I ran those Nittos on my jeep. They are great tires. The only issue I had was when it rained and there was standing water, they wanted to hydroplane. That is a good looking rig
I got mine done a few days ago. I used the Wix 4770 base and a Wix 533005 filter. I got the 3/8"x1/2"npt barbed fitting from Ace. I got the 1/4"x1/2" npt barbed fitting from EBay. I wrapped the threads with regular old thread tape. Because my filter is so long, I had to cut a piece of steel to...
My old floor mat and padding needed replacing. I tore it all out and I am going to clean the floor of the cab and primer it. I also thought about throughing down a layer of the Rust-O-Leum bedliner just to help protect against rust. It is pretty clean with just minor surface rust.
I have...
I figured I would tag on to this thread instead of starting a new one. I am going to make the conversion tonight if I get home in time. New spin on base, filter and fuel lines from the base. I have a question about repriming the system.
When everything is together, the new filter is full of...
All of you that replaced your switch, did you go from the original that had a spring and shaft the fit inside the TC to the switch that has the detent ball? If so, how did you make it fit? I ordered one with a shaft and spring and received a detent ball. There is no way to screw it down. I...
I took the sway bar last night. It rides a little smoother aff road in the fields. I couldn't really tell any difference on curves in the road. No body roll. I took it off because it needed new bushings. I had read where others had taken it off with no ill effects, so I tried it. So far so good
After reading this thread, I looking at my bushings and yeah they were gone. I went for a spin in the truck through the fields and then a curvy road. Came back and took the sway bar off and went on the same drive. It was smoother in the field and I could feel any noticeable leaning in cureves...
