I replaced all the weatherstripping on the door. I have the new weatherstripping to put on the cab side, I am just waiting to refinish the floor first. It has rained here everyday for probably for a month now. With the door shut, water is running down the weatherstripping on the cab side and...
I will give that a shot when I get home. I actually ordered a new switch on Wednesday. I have a 205 TC and the TMs say use Dexron II and when full it should be 4" below the fill plug. How do you measure the 4"? In my jeep wrangler, you fill it up untill it pours out of the fill hole.
Figured I would add to this vs starting a new thread. I am in need of a new switch for my 205 TC. In the TMs it lists the part number as 15594176. Napa can't cross refernece the number. So we looked it up the old way in the system. What came up (Napa part # FWD37 and there is only one in the...
I finally got around diagnosing my 4wd light today. I have only seen it light up once. I started off by cleaning the connection and switch. I got nothing. I jumped the wires and the light came on. From what I have read and the TMs that means I have a bad switch. I am going to pick one up...
Thank you DH. In the short time I have been on here, my link list is enormous. For you to pull one from 3 years ago you must have a dedicated computer to this site.
Are they all run on top? I swear I have seen pictures of floorboards without the wires.
Works for me. Thank you. Seeing as how the wires are crushed under the mount plates, that might explain why I have only seen my 4x4 light blink vs staying on
Thank you again
Ted
Pulling up the old floor mats and here lay two wires. One black and one white. They pass the TC hole in the floor and under the dash. I can't see where they come out anywhere. Any ideas
I took the truck on the powerlines last night to play with the 4wd. Seems dad and his buddy did a good job with the hubs. My 4wd light hasn't worked since I got the truck. I actually saw it blink a few times last night. Hopefully it is just a bad connection that I can find.
Put all new...
Apparently dad and his friend got bored yesterday and took my truck and replaced the inner seals and locking hubs. They pulled the bearings, they said they looked brand new so they only replaced the seals. The driver side locking hub fell apart when they took it off. They were replaced with...
Thank ya'll for your help. Apparently my father and his friend have gotten bored. They took my truck and are doing the bearings and hubs for me. That is great news for me, I can now go home and work on weathering stripping.
I have searched here an on the internet for the torque specs when replacing the front bearings on my M1028A1. Everything I seem to read is a couple of years old and some of it says the TM -20 is incorrect. Can someone help me please? What is the correct way to torque them and how much?
I am...
When you add your switch and splice, make sure the splice is good. I am dealing with a bad splice I believe. I have been given trouble shooting instructions and now just need the time. Use a 3m dual contact splice so it will touch the wires twice
I cleaned the underside of the truck this morning and put a clean white t shirt under the IP and went for about a 25 mile ride. The shirt was spotless and oil was still present on the bottom of the engine and crossmember again. Here are some pictures from underneath the truck when we got back.
When you say up under the IP, do you mean where the fuel line connects? Reach behind the breather? I know it sounds silly, but I just want to be clear!
Marcus thank you. I am hoping to be able to check it all tomorrow and that it will be a quick fix.
Side note, I took the truck on its first real drive yesterday. I drove 100 miles round trip. I found out my speedo, jumps 5-15 mph. It only stays still for maybe 5-8 secs at a time. Also, the...
