Hammer: Thanks for the help, that's what I needed to know. Was it too short or the one end didn't match?
It appears the replacement one I have is some type of universal speedo or tach cable and why the numbers don't match.
Guess it's time to order one.
Does anyone know if the duece tach cable will work on the 809 series 5 tons? I have a new replacement cable that works on the duece but the numbers don't match the parts book for the 5 ton or the duece. My 817 is at my dad's farm so I can't just walk out and check it. I'm trying to get parts...
atankersdad: Thanks for the help and insite. It appears there is only 1 large filter on the 809s not counting a small one in the pump? I was expecting 3 like on the M35s.
mangus: Yes, that's where I downloaded the others from. The TM 9-2320-260-20 just won't download for some reason.
I can down-load every TM for the 809 series except TM 9-2320-260-20. I think this is the one I really need for changing fuel filters. Can anyone help me out. I have an 817 to recover this weekend and have been told it may need some filters. This is my first 5 ton so I'm trying to get...
Warthog,
Yeah bet the shipping would be killer!:-D I was just interested in what a new set would run. Would a second place trophy help bring shipping cost down? LOL
Well it looks like we have 3 groups;
1. Those who have done it and admit it. (I'm in this group.)
2. Those who haven't done it, yet!:-D
3. Those who have done it and won't admit it! :-D:-D
I would guess this has something to do with the military switching to DOT5 brake fluid, but that is just a guess. I would like the know your findings also.
Hopefully these images will work, but here is the proof that we placed 2nd in our group for the Edmond Parade. Word is we would've taken 1st, but someone didn't clean their tires!!!! Not mentioning any names (M1075). :-D:-D
ARYankee, this setup should be fine for you. I normally don't keep a top on mine because the wife keeps me hauling crap for her. So this setup is perfect for me. I can put it on and off by myself in no time. So if I get a couple of years out of it, I'm happy.
The only problem I had was...
Yeap, I know the sides roll up. I have one also, but it is a PITA to mess with and heavy! This thing is lite, can be taken off in no time and can be stored it the tool compartment. Try that with a normal top.:-D
I have been thinking of a way to put a Parade Top on and came up with this solution. It is just a standard 9x12 tarp from the local hardware store. I first cut some wood spacers 10" long to drop down in the sides to raise up the bows to allow most people to stand up. Then took the tarp and...
My mistake above! I thought they were looking for just the runners, not the complete seats. I would guess that a complete seat would be very expensive also. Blank runners that you cut and drill yourself may get it in the affordable price range.
I recently scrounged up enough used fiberglass boards to convert my troop seats to fiberglass. My concern with your list of NSN numbers is that it maybe missing one for the seat portion. My seat portion (Seat Assembly 2540-00-591-1108, Part # 7370383), has two different lengths, 2 long ones on...
Looks like we will have to line-up 2 abreast. I'm not sure how this effects M1075's passengers??? :-D:-D
I would help him out but I'm loaded down with Hooter's girls!!!!:-D:-D
If you are putting it on a dropside bed you only need one set of the tubes, if you're going to mount them to an existing headache rack. I have 2 dropsides and only had one correct headache rack. I cut them in half and made two sets. Makes the rack a little lighter and no problems with storing...
