We do not use these strips in aviation if we can avoid it. We use a wing walk anti skid paint. It is basically flat black paint with sand particles in it. Applied wet it doesn't peel like the strips. Of course a truck doesn't go as fast as an airplane - LOL so you probably aren't woried about it...

Don't use belting it just rots and gives out again. Get an 8 foot stainless hinge from McMasterCarr for each side and use some squishy foam sealant for the crack so water can't get in. Works perfect.

Just realized by way of a better explnation - I never dump my trailer so the wheels come off the ground. Does that still over stress the castings? Anybody done any research on the trailer using that as a limitation?

I have used mine as a dump trailer a few times with no problem. However. I only drop the tailgate and dump it until the tailgate hits the ground so it is only a minor angle, just enough to shovel downhill. M116 3/4 ton generator trailers have pockets in the bed floor and no side boards. The bows for the M116 are all metal and a different size (cross sectional dimensions) then the M101 side board stake pocket holes on the side board.
