I am not trying to insult you. But you said you replaced the fuel pump. Did you use axle grease to hold the push rod up to the cam when you put the pump on? If not it will drop down and not make contact with the cam. Unless you use a heavy grease to hold it in place I would remove the fuel line...
That is why you see a girdle on my engine but not a turbo. While I do plan to add a turbo for when I drive to Denver and higher. But I live at see level so it is not something I need right now. But I put that girdle on fast!
The main limitation on the 6.2 is the bottom end. Quick over view of boosting any engine. Air is forced through the air intake into the combustion chamber. Pressure is increased all along the way. The air intake is the easiest to strengthen and most are not a problem. Inside the engine is the...
I rebuilt my engine a year ago and drive my truck daily and have made several long trips. I have not had any problems. I also called them and they were great. I forgot to ask for one I could run bio-diesel through. But I am real happy with the pump and the service.
Could not find anybody that could beat the price of Diesel Care Diesel Care and Performance Inc I put one in when I rebuilt my engine and I have had no problems.
Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) it kills IP's and injectors. The sulfur was a lubricant so you have to add a lubricant untill they make an IP and injector to use ULSD in a 6.2. If that is the problem get new injectors too. If you have been adding a lube then how old is it? When the seals go it...
How about just replacing the fuel lines? It is like someone saying they have leg problems so everyone is saying, Cut the foot off and get a new one. Who said it is the foot!
Just go get some florescent fuel dye. Mix it with a couple gallons of diesel. Poor it in your tank. Run your truck for a...
Is there fuel leaking somewhere? If not it is not the fuel pressure switch Or the filter bracket. If it is running and diesel is poring out then look there if not you are wasting time. Did you check the fuel return valve? It sounds like something is up with the IP. I am not saying replace it...
Replacing the switch again! Does anybody know what size the O-ring is? What is the best material to use? I am bout to do some research. But I want an O-ring that can take high temps and diesel I would like it to be good for bio-diesel too. I have never used bio but I might. I am guessing Viton...
First thing to always do is add diesel 911 to the fuel. Then pull the fuel return valve off the top of the IP and clean it. There is a glass ball inside so you should see straight through. I run the Diesel 911 about every six months just to keep any water out of the fuel. I also add Lucas fuel...
I just pull the old one off and put the new one on. But I put clear hose on the air bleeder, open the air bleeder valve and crank until fuel goes in the clear line. I try to remember to bleed the air out. But when I forgot ti bleed the air it still ran fine. I think the air gets pushed out...
Why not just use the 24V that is already there? When you are driving what is the alternators doing? You already have 24V. Then you can add two deep cycle Optima batteries. I would use the 24V from the truck to charge the Optimas while driving. Go to any RV dealer and they have 24V products. Many...
NEVER USE STARTER FLUID unless you disconnect the glow plugs and then only to start it. Just take the hose off and remove the check valve. There is a glass ball in there so you should be able to see through it. Spray from both sides with carb cleaner and maybe use a tooth pick. Do not use...
I connected mine just to make me feel better but I do not think it is important. I found it in the TM's but it took searching and I do not remember what it was.
There is an ACC position on the ignition. No lighter. I added a lighter just took the plug out of the space next to the ash tray and connected to the front battery. So easy I could do it.
X2 Gas engines need alternators to run not diesel engines. Diesels use the alternator to keep the battery charged. The engine in the CUCV has power to the glow plugs to help start, power to the IP to keep a valve open so it can be turned off, and power to the starter. The only power required...
It may be hard to see in the pic. It is dark outside. But the wire plugs in on the driver side frame behind the radiator and in front of the hard lines. Take a look and you should see a plug on a bracket.
