It covers HMMWV and CUCV 6.2 and 6.5. It is really helpful. It will also help if you get a HMMWV engine and put it in your CUCV. I was trying to replace O-rings on the throttle shaft of the injector pump. I looked at it and thought I figured it out but did not want to break anything. After...
CUCV FAQ Article is great and I love that I can quickly find the TM's but one needs to be added. TM 9-2815-237-34 it covers working on the IP and much more.
I am sure it is on but I could not find it discussed. I remover three bolts through the oil filler tube hole and the three nuts holding TH IP in place. I also removed all the fuel lines. I am trying to pull it out but it seems to be stuck. It has moved back about 1/2 inch but wont come out. I do...
PB Blaster! Just don't break it. It most likely has some rust. Things break when you get in a hurry. There also could be stuff in the holes where it locks on the floor. If you look under where the lift bar is at the floor you will see the two places it locks in. Get some air and blow it out...
Diesel fuel is leaking out of it.
I had to rebuild the engine when I got it and replaced the IP because I was told it did not work. So I have a leaking IP on the truck and one I was told did not work in the garage. I called and a bench test cost too much. So I am going to bolt the original back...
:funny:I had a bit of smoke once and had to change my drawers too! To be complete. You can change one battery. But only if the one had a problem and the other was fine. When charging the batteries you have to be careful to charge them to the same level too. I buy rebuilt batteries that are...
I am trying to see if there is someone on here that gets shop rates at M&D. I am not asking for prices to be posted just PM me. I need to get my IP rebuilt but the price I get is almost twice what I can get it for if I ship it out. I would prefer to have to done local but I only have my...
You have to replace them in pairs. Just like changing flashlight batteries. The new battery will not last. But if it clicks that normally means not enough amps to engage the starter. But crawl under the truck and hit the starter with a hammer or something. If it starts after that you need a new...
"APB be on the look out for a camouflage military Blazer..." It won't take long to spot. Around here most cops wave when I go by. A thief would be spotted fast. It would be a low speed chase!
STUD GIRDLE KIT!!!!! It keeps the bottom of the engine together. The bottom is the weak part of the engine. STUD GIRDLE KIT it is the best money spent when adding a turbo. I already have the stud girdle kit on my engine. I would like to know about clearance issues with the battery and the...
If you managed to change the IP without removing the manifold let me now how you did it!
The glow plug relays are different in some trucks. If you click on the FAQ Thread for CUCV's at the top of the CUCV page. The first page in the middle Michael posted about the glow plug relay. If this is...
Bigger trucks around here:-( But I find when I am driving a little fast people get out of the way. Drive too fast and they will stay in the way. So it is a balance. Plus I really like the black smoke for those special drivers!
Really I just like to check the performance. I find the truck...
I want to run HMMWV tires. So 36 to 37 inch tires. I put 33's on for now. I would have liked to just change fenders. But if they are the same so I will first lift it four inches and then work all the bugs out. Then I can do an axle swap and change the tires.
I have the pintle/ball combo and the original pintle. Then I have wrenches and sockets. I drive off road so I need the swivel. I have unbolting one and bolting the other down pat. I was going to add a receiver but I just change out the hitch instead.
Man do not drive around here. You will get run over! 65 MPH is the slowest I go on the freeway. I do the speed limit. On road trips I have done 70 or 75 MPH for long stretches. I know for a fact it can go much faster. Going fast I still can get just over 15 MPG. If you want to save fuel keep it...
