I went to the link for Off Road Design that Sharecropper posted. The website says that this kit will not work on a 1 ton truck unless you have a lift kit on the truck. They claim that this set up will interfere with the frame. I looked at my M1028 and it didn't look like it would be an issue...
Its a safe bet to say that you guys from Florida & California will have better access to rust free parts (and probably cheaper) then those of us from the rust belt. My M1028 that I drive daily (weather permitting) came from North Carolina and is rust free.
I have 3 parts trucks (1 M1028 & 2...

In the winter its stored inside so the salt doesn't eat...
GroundedCLK, I just noticed your from NH. I'm in Mass 20 minutes south of Boston. When you get your hitch & brake controller installed feel free to come try out my trailer. We can put a car on it and see how the 09 handles it.
As Skinny pointed out, longer trailers allow you to move the load...
I have a Big Tex 18' car trailer (model DM 70). I bought it new 10 years ago and I'm very pleased with it.
Towing a car trailer with a 09 always starts a big debate.
I just sent you a text message.
When we talked earlier you said it was your front driveshaft seal that was leaking? I called auto zone in Braintree, they have the Timken seal in stock for $12. They open up at 07:30 tomorrow morning. I can pick it up and meet you along the way.
