As long as your prepared for the occasionall down time, they can be great vehicles to own. Like any 30 year old vehicle, things will go wrong from time to time.

I've also seen it on the M1009's.

Will this be your only vehicle or a weekend toy?

How can the seller claim its never been off road unless they personally know everyone that's driven it over the last 30 years. How does it run & drive? Still 24 volts? The seller claims its good on gas?

Would a bad IP cause air problems upstream at the fuel filter base? I would guess that the air is coming from a rubber line, the fuel filter base, or the lift pump.

Are you going to paint the motor while it is out?

As the saying goes, Cash is King. You can't fault the seller for going with a quick cash sale. What if the bank appraiser didn't value the truck high enough so TheFiginator's loan fell through? Keep you head up, you will find another one.

Let us know how it turns out. I would think that any part that leaks out diesel could also let air leak in.

700R4 tranny's sell for $200-$250 here in Mass. The hard part to find for those looking to swap a 700R4 trans into a CUCV is the TV bracket. The 6.2 uses a different bracket than the gas engines Is the K10 a short bed? It would be cool to have a short bed CUCV clone. Any pictures of the truck?

Check the starter bolt holes. If there is a starter on it, is the bracket there?

You may have to trim a little more on the rear of the front fender. Sounds like your not afraid to trim the fenders, so I say go for it.

33x12.50 tires on a 15x10 rim will rub the front fenders on a stock M1009.
