I've been watching ebay and the classifieds on this site but it never showed up for sale?

Is the truck up and running? I hope everything is ok, I just noticed you haven't posted here in a while.

    Easter find M1008 2015

I'm starting to miss the nightly updates on all of the projects Cucvrus is working on.

    CUCV 1986 M1008 - In a Real Pickle - Bad Heads - Need Advice

Google "SB chevy intake manifold bushings" (maybe someone more computer savvy than me can post the link to Summit Racing, I tried & failed). These bushings are used on sb chevys to solve a problem similar to the one you are having. The 1986 & earlier sb intake manifolds would not bolt up to...

    CUCV 1986 M1008 - In a Real Pickle - Bad Heads - Need Advice

Could you have a machine shop re-drill the manifold bolts on 1 side?

My M1009, and wanting to know its past...

If Cucvrus owned it, you found yourself a good truck.

This Was Donated to Our VFD

I believe the Roscoman website (known as a source for 12 volt conversion info) also has info on how to turn the M1009 into a brush fire truck.

Glad to hear that your feeling well enough to get back to the M1009.

    NP 208 transfer case brace

This subject got me thinking back to when aa member here (Ithink it was Cucvrus) replaced some motor mounts on a CUCV. It seemed odd to me that they said they had to use the ones from a gas 350 and not a 6.2 diesel. Now I'm wondering if this has something to to with the lack of a strut rod...

Right Bedside Replacement Panel - My Experience

As others have said, whenever possible, we are better off searching for used GM sheet metal. That being said, I have seen some decent fitting aftermarket sheet metal on some of the parts trucks that I parted out. One 85 k20 had front fenders made by Gordon Autobody parts that fit good. A 86 k30...

    CUCV Steering wheel

Thank you. I've owned a few 90-91 civy blazers & suburbans with them. Your right, the wiring would be a pain to deal with. Thanks anyway.

    CUCV Steering wheel

I'm a huge fan of the power mirrors on that 90 Jimmy.

    Time to let go??

The blazers never came with a 14 bolt rear axle. If I was a betting man, my money says someone probably bolted in a 14 bolt from a 3/4 ton truck. A 3/4 ton 14 bolt doesn't require you to change spring perches or swapping spring hangers like a 1 ton axle does.

    Paint Woes / price check

$4k-$8k for a full repaint seems fair to me. Don't get me wrong, when my M1028 needs paint I'm going to use Behr paint from home depot. That will suit my needs just fine. Quality paint does not come cheap. My civy 81 Chevy 8' stepside has DuPont basecoat/clear coat paint. The paint, reducer...

CUCV Snow Plow Trucks and Spreaders

Cucvrus, can you do a little write up with pictures when you do the inline fuse on the light fuse. I know in the past you have mentioned doing that with the heater fuse. A few pics would be great. Thank you.

    M1008 dragged home today...

Rustystud had a great post about the problems that a bad kickdown switch can cause.

    Is this a good deal?

That sounds like a great deal.

    Floor Shifter / Reverse Lights

Have you looked to see if B&M makes a reverse light switch for your shifter?. My 69 Camaro has a Hurst 1/4 stick shifter (yes Cucvrus, its an old race car turned street car). Both the neutral safety switch and the reverse light switch were options that I had to buy separately.

    Is this a good deal?

If you are doing the R&R I think the $500 would just about cover the cost of getting your Turbo 400 rebuilt by a good shop. That used trans is still 30+ years old. Why not start out with a fresh rebuild?
