What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I gave my fuel canister a soak in muratic acid, painted it, installed new brake lines and a new fuel filter. Alas, she won't restart. See my help thread here: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?140897-NHC-250-No-start-fuel-problem

    NHC 250 No start-fuel problem

You bet. Good volts, works properly, had it completely off and apart. A bad solenoid was my first thought after reading many, many fuel threads. But no, works fine. Also tried the manual screw. Screwed it in, same thing, no start. As an aside, with all this messing with my fuel system and the...

    NHC 250 No start-fuel problem

I also had the IP off to replace a leaking throttle shaft gasket. A new gasket seals the IP nicely and the o-ring fixed my throttle shaft leak! Don't lose that clip! The input shaft into the IP has that bisecting piece of metal that seems to line up with the input into the compressor. I'm pretty...

Help getting these fuel fittings apart

Got it! My friend recommended CRC freeze off. That and a breaker bar got it off. Going to take the hose to a local shop in he AM and have a new one made. You can see the cracks in this one if you look closely.

Hagerty Not Renewing My DUKW Insurance

Try Gulfway, right there in FL. Insured my M925 for a very low annual price. Edit to add; they have no storage, usage or mileage requirements. It really is the ideal policy.

Help getting these fuel fittings apart

My fuel hose from the PT to the filter is cracked and needs replaced. I couldn't get it off the filter so I took the whole thing off and brought it home to work on my bench. I've put about 150lbs of torque on the fuel line fitting but it won't come loose from the 90 degree elbow. I've soaked it...

    JB Weld to fix tach?

So my 2nd attempt was a success! I sanded down the plastic square spacer by 1/32" or so on two adjoining sides (maintaining square) and that did the trick. This resulted in a smaller hole and the tach cable fit it like a glove. It musta been just a hair too larger on my first attempt. It's held...

    What seal did I blow?

What seal did I blow? *Answered* Inside of the passenger front tire. I need to check the TM and do some reading here. What's this seal called? It went when parked. I can tell because the grease dripped onto the tire, stayed there and was then flung onto my inner fender well. Thanks!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I took mine to cars and coffee. A gathering of about 200-300 cars the 1st Sat of each month. Everything from Ferraris to Fords. About 30 kids climbed in and out for pics. I also sorted out my big toolbox. I fixed my tach. I also began my an my hunt for two new shackles for the rear.

I will probably be there. The 4th is my wife's birthday. If I stay on my best behavior I can likely get a hall pass.

    Sideways pics? Let's fix!

Has anyone found a solution to the sideways pics? My search didn't turn up anything. Any sure fire work arounds until a fix is found? IMHO forum software should be glitch free. And of course good forum software helps grow membership and revenue. Mods-while new, I've read enough to know this...

    JB Weld to fix tach?

So I went for it. Worked perfectly! The plastic spacer was the perfect size and it wiggle out once the JB Weld was dry. I installed it tonight and it worked perfectly for about 1 minute. After that the shaft slipped and wallowed out the JB Weld. Back to the drawing board.
