Hello all as the title says, I have had a failure in my GP system and have a question. Its a typical, beautiful fall day in Indiana cold and rainy. Lol. I went to start my truck for the first time today and no go. Cranked as usual, nice and fast, but I was getting nothing but some white smoke...
Thanks Recovery4x4 its not the LMC one though, correct? I have never seen one of them other than the catalog pic, but it sure doesn't look like it and I was unaware anyone else made one.
Wacking my balls out? Lol, I have read that but will revisit it, I had not planned on removing the check ball, it is nice, clean, and clear, I was saying I was going to try the clear line to look for bubbles.
That is absolutely unreal!!! Talk about rolling art!! I saw it asked and I may have missed the answer, but the front head liner? Was it custom made or is it one you can buy? I love the overhead gauges!!
Well, after letting the Power Service sit for a good 24 hrs, it defiantly made a difference! I am still having some surging and it still will die once in a while. I think my high idle solenoid might be sticking too, it seems to be idling a little high and when I turn it off, I feel the acc...
Chief, I could not find any place here in town who could get the Stanadyne stuff so I could order it or try what was available here in town, I chose the latter. I got Power Service Diesel Kleen+Cetane Boost.
I have read good things about their products and reading the bottle and comparing it to...
Hi I am guessing that if you think air in the lines could be part of your issue, you have gone through and checked all of your connections looking for loose ones, damaged clamps? How about replacing the rubber lines if not at least giving them all a good inspection? Don't forget,at least on the...
Dave, I will try and get some pics tomorrow, right now it just looks like a nice clean NA 6.5l, I think I have a cpl of pics I snapped when I got the block back, etc, Ill look and see on those.
Hello all! I checked the check ball on the IP, the ball is there and clean. The truck is running great and I seem to have elemanated the surge. I still have an issue and that is when I am driving down the road and let off the accelerator, it will surge a cpl of times and then be fine. If I stop...
Hello, I have not looked into the check ball yet, I need to do a little research before I pull the cover off and look into that, I am not real sure about what I need to look for when I do.
Thanks for your reply, I will defiantly look into it since you are having a similar problem and that...
Hello! Well I went through my fuel system again and I did find a broken hose clamp on the inlet side of the filter housing, being as I have an electric pump and there is pressure in the line at that point I dont think it is my issue. I also tightened all the lines at the injectors. I still have...
I have never had one, but I seem to remember reading some place that you use a small allen wrench. Take a flashlight and look in the end where the hose connects and see if there is an allen head screw. If I am remembering correctly, you dont have much adj. either way, only a turn or so.
Hello all, I have a question regarding a cpl of issues I am having after my rebuild. Somehow I had damaged the steel return line that comes from the top of the IP and is connected to the returns from the individual injectors. It was crimped and after running for a while, developed a tiny pin...
When you replace your vac lines, dont forget the small piece going from the vac. pump to the T if you have a stock setup, check the T and cap on the other end of it too, I just replaced it all.
Are you referring to the valve on the side of the inj. pump? It has two bolts that hold it to the side of the pump, loosen them up and pivot the valve assembly toward the core support. This will make the tranny shift earlier/softer. There is a spec for this and a special gauge that is specified...
Well, I FINALLY got it started today! Over the last cpl of months I have been rebuilding a 6.5l turbo for my M1008 and today I finally got it fired up!! I ended up putting it back in NA for now, after all the $$ I spent, a chunk of it unexpected, I just didnt have the funds for the turbo exhaust...
I had mentioned in another post, as far as neutral safety and starting in gear with a man, you could use the switch on the clutch pedal and tie into the starter relay ( the one used in the Doghead mod), this way, the truck would only start w the clutch depressed.
