Good read here. I've been around the Detroit Diesel's a bit from 6v92ta Silver's to the 8v92tta Silvers. I did a bunch of work with an Oshkosh Snowblower that had the 8v92TTA...twin turbo's...It was rated at 750h.p....we had it detuned down to 580h.p. and moved the max...rpm's up to 2400rpm's...
If I could come up with a flip neck trailer...sure. Yes up here in the patch their are many uses for a recovery truck....but right now...Military parades are priority and going to church.
Introduction in order. We purchased a 1994 HET M1070 just recently. It took some logistics getting it here but we eventually got all that taken care of. We put "Optimus Prime" in a "parade" last weekend and a car-show. We had a great time talking to many people.
There was a local army vet...
Well Home sweet home. Truck arrived although short of it's destination...like 270miles short....Truck driver decided there was a better load going else where and dropped the Truck in Billings so I took off after work and picked the rig up in billings and drove it back....Optimus Prime is home...
This is very true...I witnessed a fork lift driver loading for me...run right into another persons trailer...punctured the tire...damaged the fender...turned to look and shrugged his shoulders and moved right on..."No big deal attitude."
On another occasion we went to view a freezer in good...
The trip was good. Just...Limited on time. The truck drives great and is very comfortable. Yes it was very warm...but I figured since I can why not ship it...besides I'll save the miles on the road for MT. The only problem I noticed was there was a braided hose hanging down from the...
HET M1070 Pic
You got a point...If that was camo...HMMM I'd be rich...I'll try again. I'm about 1100 or less miles here. If anybody has a Lowboy headed this way empty...let me know. Cash deal! PM if interested!
Anyways...the Cooler that the person is holding is pretty cool. The bottom is...
Well...I drove it 500 miles in 2+ days of driving...Every time I stopped a Mognonium picture fest would ensue...It was fun talking with the retired VETS and current enlisted men and women. This was the highlight of my 3 days on the road....Fuel wise wasn't too bad...but I had scheduled 4 days...
Hello folks...just picked up a M1070. I had every intent of driving the truck all the way to Eastern MT. Was wondering if any of you folks know of a RGN or Lowboy in the Reno Area that can transport an HET up to the great state of MT.

Theres several companies that make silencers/mufflers for hospital specs. Level 100, 200, 300 and 400(Hopsital specs).
? I don't think a muffler like above would be necessary as getting rid of one area of noise would...
Since the muffler is strapped to the body...If you could isolate the strap, and put up some firewall and floorboard sound deadening, possibly even isolate the cab itself from the frame with rubber isolation dampners or air/shocks you could take out alot of noise. I used to ride along with my...
Very Nice, Well Done!...Way to go!:jumpin: Great pics....just enough info to make my NV4500 go up in price!!!LOL! Congrats on the build/conversion. Doing a simular project not as far along as you are...still bringing some parts together.

My Old Trailer! 1.5ton Bauer Unimog Trailer
This was my second trailer! My first trailer did not have fold down sides. This one did. It had air assist brakes along with drum brakes and a fold down tire rack that was stored and acessed from the rear underneath the deck. It also had 2 rear...
