    exhaust

I just spoke to the guys a Heath Diesel and he told me that the factory exhaust is REALLY bad. He said the mufflers are huge and inside they are throttled down to about 1.125". He said GM did this to get the noise down and opening them up would improve your power. But, he also said that the...

    What are your coolant temps?

Great... I like the first option... Is that plug difficult to remove? I walked out to my truck and looked at the plug your are referring to. It seems smaller than the threaded part that holds the probe in place. Not my picture http://www.miata.net/garage/GaugeInstall/gaugeInstall6.jpg but...

    Be Jealous!

So, my questions are... Can you replicate the engine and tranny mounts so other can do this? If so would the mounts be the same for an automatic? And if all that is do-able... how close would that be to making this a swamp that others would tackle? I put a 300Z V-6 in a 1971 Datsun 510 with...

    What are your coolant temps?

My commute is about 9 miles and I take the 35 mph route with traffic, lights etc... during this trip my coolant temps get to and maintain about 195°-200°. On Saturday the outside temp was about 90°-ish. I filled the small utility trailer (about 500 lbs) with trash from the basement (another...

turning up the injection pump question

Is that all? Because the Banks turbo manual talks about removing a spring and only doing it when it is cold Page 14 of http://assets.bankspower.com/manuals/429/96291-v2-web.pdf NOTE: The engine must be COLD before starting this procedure. ... Observe the position of the metering...

    need a injection pump?

mine does that too... especially when on diesel... when on WVO it acts normal. I asked this question and was told to increase the fuel supply. I plan on doing it.. just haven't had time. Banks Turbo has an install manual for their turbo that tells you how to do this.

    Work steps/platform

The tubing is 1"x1.5" 11ga rectangle tube I used a 1' piece for each step and a 7" long piece of hot rolled "C" channel I cut out a notch on one side and left the other solid... Here is a few pics of it on the bench.

    Work steps/platform

I am 6'2" and working on the engine compartment can sometimes be a PITA. Especially when trying to reach something near the rear of the compartment. I find myself standing on the shackle mounts sometimes and barely having a toe on it. So I made these and I thought I'd share I found the...
