The primary filter is getting some fuel. But there's no difference in the amount coming out of the drain valve when the acc switch is on or off. The fuel lines running from the tank to the primary are intact, per visual inspection. Same for the lines from the primary to the bottom of the IP...
Been busy most of the day....
Farmun what do you mean you filled them. You used the intank pump and bleed the air out right? Actually, I was going to drop them from the bottom of the mount, fill them with clean diesel, and bolt them back up. Decided I would try to fill from the bleeder...
No, every time I've gotten it started, which has been getting more and more difficult to do, it runs fine. It's been snowy and cold for quite some weeks now, and I haven't been running it but once every 2-3 weeks since Thanksgiving. Two weeks ago, it just wouldn't start. Been messing with it...
Been there, done that. Same exact thing with my truck, drips at primary with switch on or off, and dry at the secondaries. I'm close to 10% WMO in the tank right now. Mine is dead as she can be. The in-tank pump is working some, it spit fuel all over the tank and frame rail when the fuel line...
Got our fuel shut off cover off this morning also, but I wasn't brave enough to start taking things loose inside of it. Everything seemed to be working fine in there, nothing loose, and the lever would pop back forward with good force, after moving it toward the rear.
Reason I pulled the...
I spent about 30 minutes on the phone this past Monday with my NAPA store looking for a filter mount. The 4770 is no longer available from them (at least he said he couldn't get one). The 4764 is close but as mentioned above it has different filter threads. They can get that one.
Looks like this operation is in my future. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but does the plunger end of the cable push or pull against the bottom "dowel" of the outside piece (the one going vertical)? Does that make sense?
Pulled the pump yesterday afternoon, and to my surprise, (or disappointment), the bottom of the pump was still intact. Brought it to the workbench, and started taking the bottom off. There was a wire holding the bottom plate and screen in place. I removed the four screws holding the bottom...
Thanks for pictures early in this thread. I'm going to pull my pump out this weekend. I hope to find the screen plate and the shims laying on the bottom of the tank. It hums, but does not pump....
Renovate7: Yes, I will be pulling the pump this week to see if it fell apart. I ran out of time/daylight on Sunday afternoon. I have read through all the posts I could find on this particular problem, and that's where the innovative use of the leaf blower was described. Sounds like the...
Looking for options to get my truck running again. Trouble starting it last few weeks, yesterday she wouldn't start at all. Trouble shooting began at the primary filter, no flow out the drain, so I replaced it and the secondary filters while I was at it. Turn on the switch, nice little hum...
Our Mexican canine (don't know how to spell it, not even going to try) hates the Deuce. Took him riding 1 time, and he literally freaked out and tried to get under me while I was driving. Our Lab, who's pushing 13 yrs old, barely knows it running when he's standing by it. Poor thing is...
I never knew there were Arctic Battery Boxes !!! Now that's just too cool !! Or warm !!
I just dropped some coin for an 80 watt battery heating pad, hope it works.
It doesn't get extremely cold in my part of the country. But I would like to do what I can to help my truck start on these cold days just to lessen the strain while starting her up. I put a block heater on my Deuce, and it works really well. After a couple of hours, the intake will get hot...
I have no doubt that the stock winch is more of a man than most electric winches. I'll let someone else take you up on this challenge. For me it was more availability, price, and complexity of the install. I'm hoping the electric winch is more of a conversation piece and emergency recovery...
I'm trying to finish up the installation of an electric winch on my Deuce - Warn 18K Severe Duty. I was just comparing the specs, between this one and the non-severe duty DC 18K version . 175 lbs compared to 103 lbs (as listed from the Warn website). I think both have the same motor, and they...
Started mine yesterday afternoon, but it wasn't pretty. It was in the mid 20's, and dumb me left the nose of the truck pointed to the north east. I cheated and plugged in the engine block heater for a couple of hours before hitting the red button. I was hoping for a quick start, but that...
