    Warn Olympus 25 winch

Let your imagination flow, don't limit yourself to front and back. We have FD Rescue trucks that have receivers on the sides also. The winches can be put anywhere they are needed.

    M35a3 electric winch

OK, I'm getting close to finishing this thing up, have some more holes to drill before I mount the winch. Got the controller from the Brown truck delivery guy, (was told in another thread I needed "Part # for REMOTE CONTROL ASSEMBLY is 72567") That's what I got, but it's not the one I needed...

    Manifold Heater Problems

Does the manifold heater have a maximum temperature setting up to where it works? (Like 20* or so.) The ether systems do, or at least that's my understanding. I don't think my manifold heater works either, so I installed a block heater. I know that thing works. The only problem with it is...

    DIY tow bar

Good looking welds. That should hold up quite well. What tow rig will you be using? Most of the members here tow with a truck equal to or greater than the size of the one being towed. Greater than is much safer. Good Luck!

    TN license plate question

I put the personal truck/farm tags on mine. No restrictions, no questions from Mr. Occifer.

    M35a3 electric winch

Shovelhead, That's exactly the way I plan to install my Warn 18k !! Laying the basement, beside the winch (on a skateboard), I have the the bumper extensions (18" each), and the 1/2 plate steel to span between the frame rails, just waiting to get installed! Love your pictures! Because I...

    Deuce Spring Mounts On Bed?

Or bending the bed. The frame is made to flex, the bed isn't. It would be cool to see how much flex is actually occurring at the point where the spring mounts are. Guess one could twist the truck up and see if the spring collapses all the way.

Larger air tank for a Deuce

Our new trucks have the Kussmaul connections, but we opted to not go with the auto disconnection feature, since all trucks don't have it. That way you have to actually disconnect each and every truck before leaving the station. We haven't yanked out a compressor in quite a while. All the...

Larger air tank for a Deuce

All of our trucks are connected to electric shore lines to keep the batteries topped off. These rigs use a lot of juice when rolling, and not always charge the batteries back fully. Since we started this about 15 years ago with a Wal-mart on-board trickle charger, our battery replacements went...

Larger air tank for a Deuce

Ain't that right ! We've had guys pull compressors out of the fire hall, and down the road before. Now all shore lines are at the driver's side, and not connected until the truck is started and disconnected before they pull out.

    Stuck Fire Truck

We had two fire trucks (Tender and Engine) mired up in a yard last winter whilst fighting a house fire. I was ready to head back to the house for the Deuce to pull them out, but my Asst. Chief decided to pull one with our Heavy rescue. We then used two to pull out the other. While I didn't...

warn 18,000 lb winch has anyone used them on a m35

I gots one for my truck, Warn 24v, 18k. But right now is on my son's skateboard. Here's a link to a thread where it's discussed over in the Deuce Hotrodding and Modification forum https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?22213-electric-winch.html See post 22 for the hotrod skateboard. ;-)

    Electric winch

Toolman, I had originally planned to go this route. But after looking at my sketches, and studying the issue, I thought that fitting "C" channels inside the frame rails would be stronger than putting splice plates over butt ends. Tight fitting "C" channels will place the stress points inside...

    Electric winch

Yes, it is quite oversized! But we had to come up with some way to move that monster around. The skateboard was just in my way most of the time and now it has a purpose in life!

    Electric winch

Ty, I believe I know who you are talking about, and if its who I'm thinking, we've known them for several years. My brother is in the sheet metal/duct work business for a large company nearby. He gets my stuff from their scrap pile, and does my heavy welding projects. I sent him some drawings...

    Electric winch

Miki, Nice install on that winch! I love that style of Warn winches. I believe that is the 8274 or very similar, but in a 24v version. I have the M18 model, which is more of a "in-line" version. Here it is, sitting on a skateboard, so I can move it around in the basement. My plan is to add...

New Deuce Owner Needing Advice On Going BIG

The feature that just jumps right out at me, is the brake setup. How well does that work? See them often on rock-crawlers with the Rockwell axles. Just thinking if it could be applicable to non-bobbed deuces (3 axles) and eliminate the single circuit drum brakes.
