The bed is not long enough, and most likley not wide enough to handle a 'Burb. My Jeep Wrangler will barely fit in mine, and a 'Burb is quite a bit longer and wider. As mentioned above, tow bar-ing is the best option. After market trailer hitches are popular, but the braking issue will have...
Toolman,
I'd be very interested in knowing how your winch install works out. The real concern I have is locating the remote, for a reasonable price. I like the ideaf of mounting the winch on the stock bumper for the reason you mentioned. Please keep me in the loop. Pictures would be great !!!
Bringing an old thread back to life, with some new questions...
This afternoon, I made a very good deal on a Warn M18 (24v, 18,000 lb. winch). Looks almost brand new, and the cable does not look like it has been unwound past the top layer. It's missing the remote control, but does have the...
I believe a lot of the problems mentioned above, could be resolved with a more robust search engine. I use the search quite frequently, but I still can't seem to get the correct syntax to locate what I am searching for. So I end up with 30+ threads that all seem to relate/refer back to one...
Since this is related to bumper markings, I'll post my question in this thread.
We had a fellow firefighter in our county, serving as a Reserve Marine in Afghanistan, pay the ultimate price on 8 August 2010. His remains made the final trip home yesterday, and will be laid to rest tomorrow...

This may not be the best/safest method, but I have used one 1000 CCA battery to boost the Deuce. I connected to ground post on one battery and to positive post on the other. Let it sit for a few minutes, then she fired right up.
In your brake bleeding process, was Soldier B holding pressure on the brake pedal, while Soldier A was opening the bleeder screws? Your description of how you bled the brakes didn't mention it. Just wondering....
Has anyone installed air bags on their Deuce and kept the tandem axles?
(BTW: I installed a set of Firestone air bag helpers on my wife's Xterra yesterday. Tired of riding on the bump stops. )
I ordered mine from McMaster-Carr. Sorry, don't have the part number handy, but seems like it was called Nylon 11 or something like that. Use the search function, and you'll be overwhelmed. Be sure to use the inserts that go inside the ferrules because tightening the fittings will collapse...
To prevent a new thread, I thought I would pose this question here....
From time to time, I have noticed on some trucks available at that particular auction site, the troop seats are mounted outward. What exactly is the reason for this? To allow for loading cargo easier, like pallets? Or...
