I was told that my transmission mount/crossmember was bent, that it should be at leat 13/16 higher on the ends than in the middle. Mine is about that on the drivers side but almost even with the middle on the passenger side. I need to know if what I was told was accurate. I cant find a full...
Yeah I think it is the crossmember I bolted it up solid on the driver side, it will only line up with one hole on the adapter/mount and almost an inch from the hole on the passenger side. Got some ideas but one thing is for sure I dont have time to find and wait another crossmember.
If the crossmember is bent i cant tell, as for the driveshaft the only i know to tell if it is bent is to roll on a flat surface. That high speed test proved not bent. yeah it shakes at those speeds but only when braking so i think that is warped brakes. after laying under the truck half the...
Once everything is put back together I began to bolt the transmission mount/cross member back to the frame, I noticed that the only way get the bolts line up with the holes was with alot of prying. Prying that moves the transmission. That doesnt seem right to me. So I bolted up the passenger...
I am finally getting things back together. Was cleaning all the bolts this when i noticed that the long bolt that holds the adapter to the crossmember mount has a slight bend to it. It is very subtle. I am worried that this might be a sign of a larger problem.
Got the adapter out and it turned out to be worse than I thought. The interesting thing is when I disassembled the adapter from the TC almot a half cup of water came out. The fluid in the both the tranny and TC were changed not 3 months ago.
How can you tell the difference between a 205 and 208? I bought this truck about a year ago, they said it was bought a gov auction. I assumed all was original. As for how this happened, dont have a clue. Parked when I got home and saw trans fluid, I am not off road with it, use it as a...
Goold Luck to you I took mine down to the metal also but I did not know it would be full of holes. I got fed up and just painted mine and started bolting things to it. What did not bolt I tied.
So if you put cold water on it and it starts, the pump is worn out. If doesnt start anything special to get it started or just wait. What does the cold water do to the pump?
The thing about the tranny pan, you take it off what every 50,000 miles or so. By the time you needed it, you couldnt use it because it would be seized up. A drain plug would be something to break or leak.
I have been given the advice by members on here It is electrcial clean it, If it is rubber replace it. Take that advice I would service everything asap
Yeah they are isolated ground I was thinking I could leave things hooked but to do my testing but the headlights burned out before the fuse blew made me nervous
thanks Just started it to see what would happen with the new alts and gen 1 stays on and no gen 2 voltmeter fuse is blown which is what is was doing before I took the alts off
All is wired correctly got voltmeter but how long would you let something draw to much current that you can plainly see is drawing to much just to put a number on it. What could go wrong when you disconect batteries, put on new main starter wire and reconnect. So how is a loose starter...
To recap, thought it was weak battery turned out to be a loose wire to the starter (main red) fixed that now 24 volts running to every thing (based solely on bulbs blowing and brightness, fan speed, horn wont stop) so Ithought alternater or voltage regulater. Took to be tested which led to...
