I just got back from Barstow yesterday. I had won the bid on a M1008 on March 19th. I drove from my house at Seiad Valley to Alturas, where my parents live. My father and I left from Alturas Monday morning at 4:30 am. Since it was Memorial Day we hoped to avoid alot of travelers headed back...

UH60, this was my first EUC.... The truck looks good in the pictures so I'm hoping it'll be in good shape... I'm not too excited to drive the thing 14hrs. home untested. As long as it can be flat towed it'll be okay.

Auction ended on 3-19, I finally got my invoice today, 5-20. I plan on picking up my M1008 on tues. the 27th. I can't wait!!! Hopefully it won't be too stinking hot down there... 8)

The fuel problem might be clogged fuel filters. I would try that too. Did the previous owner say anything about it not running right before you bought it??

I had a mid 90's Chevy seat in my old 75 Chevy, it made a huge difference in comfort.... I plan to do the same when my M1008 gets home...

So I take it if a M1009 doesn't fit on a U-Haul dolly, the M1008 I need to get from Barstow isn't going to fit either.... U-Haul said the M1008 was 400lbs too heavy for the trailer too. Would it fit if it was a "half ton" M1008???

I wish people wouldn't bag on cops all the time. Somebody has to be out there doing the job. Maybe the cop was like me and just wanted to check out your truck.
