Pics as promised...
The lighted license plate bracket works fairly well as best I can tell with the big security light right behind me. The LED's look pretty good on the back of the truck in my personal opinion. I have four more lights to wire up on the front of the truck mounted to the...
Thanks. I know it will work either way, just I'm not an electrician so I wasn't sure if it is better for the batteries/electrical system to go back to the batteries or the frame is good enough.
You having your markers grounded to the frame is good enough for me to go with grounding to the frame.
I don't know of a way to bypass it. There are plenty of people here with way more experience with these trucks than me who may be able to give you an idea on bypassing it but I don't believe you can.
As far as looking for a replacement they are not exactly the cheapest from a normal vendor...
Next question before I start doing anything. I have one set at the moment I plan to install this weekend. Is it best to ground LED fog lights (or any aux lighting for that matter) to the negative terminal on the battery or will grounding to the frame work just the same. I have done searches...
Yeah, the amps aren't the issue. I will wire up a breaker the cover the amp rating. I'm just trying to find something to match the brightness of route clearance lights.
I want to add some more LED work/fog lights around my 923. I have 2 already but want some extra lighting for around the truck. I would really like to get route clearance lights (Truck Lite) but it is out of my budget at the moment.
My question is, does anyone know the approximate wattage of...
There is another idea. Build an ammo can radio. It can be put where you want it and possibly even moved into a cargo bed for when you aren't driving if you run a power supply to the bed. Plus you can keep it a little more hidden so you don't have to have a civilian radio visible if you want a...
I have one of the overhead consoles from TMG. They do work and are nice, however I have noticed when driving if you have the volume up enough to be able to hear the radio over the noise of the truck you lose sound quality from speaker distortion. The setup is nice, but I would recommend...
Is there a big rig repair place close by? They should be able to take care of you since they deal with air brakes all the time. Another option is to call an auto parts store. I do know some stores can make lines. There is an O'Reillys auto parts where I am that is able to make lines. The...
Now granted mine was a hydraulic brake line on my M52 but what I personally did was remove the line and take it to a shop that can build you a line. This way you know you get the correct size fittings and the correct length hose as well.
Took it out for a drive and ended up at a 4 Wheel Parts store. There were a bunch of jeeps and trucks getting together to go on a trail run. I didn't have time to go on the run but at least got to hang out for a little bit. Met up with another MV while I was there. It was a good time. Wish...
Hahahaha... Not today. We did get a decent amount of snow a few days after Christmas. I measured 9 inches in my front yard. Today though was perfect for being out with the windows down. Was just barely below 70 degrees and sunny. This weekend unless something comes up I plan on taking it...
As MyothersanM1 said, 50 weight oil is best for the Spicer transmissions. They still recommend 50 weight for the transmissions they make now. Granted I know the newer transmission from Spicer are quite different from the transmission in a MV, but the lubricating properties of the oil remain...
Just took it for a drive today. It was a nice day so I drove it to work and then cruised around a little afterwards. I'm waiting on a couple parts to show up so I can keep working on some stuff.
Installed a set of LED work lights in front of my front mudflaps pointing off to the side. Gives a very nice and bright side light for working and offroad driving when it's dark. I plan on getting a few more lights to install. I want to find the same lights and put a set behind the rear mudflaps...
Deleted post since I accidentally posted on the wrong thread. I had followed your battery box link for the What have you done to your 5 ton thread and apparently didn't go back. Apologies.
