Thinking about doing the push button gp modification, from looking at forums i see that people have done this mod a few different ways some people have taped into the gp card and others have by passed the card. What are the pros and cons of both ways?

I need to get behind the gages to do some work unable to pull out the gage panel due to the odometer cable being connected to the back. Anyone have a trick on disconecting the odometer cable with out breaking it,, and can it be put back together?

I HAVE AN M1010 DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE RPM'S SHOULD BE SITTING AT DURING IDLE? My batterires are charging at 12.2 i think its due to a low Idle speed. Just had the alternator replaced so its not the alt. Any ideas?
Just replaced my alternator on my m1010. At idle the charge on the batteries was reading 12.3 i felt this was low and i noticed my iddle speed was low as well. Tweaked the idle speed while the engine was warm and was able to have the batteries charging read out at 13.4 for both batteries. Now...
yeah i ran into bad alternator and had it replaced just instaled it the other day. It was a direct replacement. delco remy 24v 65amp. With the new alternator im getting this light problem.
I noticed my interior odometer and spedometer lights become brighter with acceleration and stay bright while the vehcile is moving. When i come to a stop they dim slightly. Is this typical with these older vehicles or could it be symptoms to something else?
Thank you, Yeah i have been trying to track it down in my manual but having a hard time finding the specifics. What are other people using and how much?
