Hello all.
My 1008 has got a intermitent buzz coming from under the dash while driving.
Glow plugs are fairly new and it starts good even in low teen temps.
Everything works fine.
What could it be ?....... Maybe glowplug card ?
THANKS.
Hello. Drove my 1008 yesterday and noticed the brake pedal was really soft. It stops good, but seems to be stopping with only the front brakes. Everything is new reguarding pads, wheel cylinders, fluid, even the master cylinder and hyro-boost is new last year. Last week the pedal was very firm...
73-80 models had the thicker glass. 81-87 models had thinner glass. I've measured several different windows from several model years and what I needed was the 73-80. If you install new felt for a 81-87 into a door from the years 73-80 your window will be super hard to roll up and down. That's...
Hello. Somewhere around 1980 GM changed the thickness of the door glass in their pickups. I'm trying to order new window felt from LMC and need the felt for the "thicker" glass. The door itself came from a salvage yard 20 years ago and I can't remember what year model truck that I robbed it off...

I've got an 86 model 1008 that i bought from a guy a while back who done a horrible job of converting to 12 volts. I'm gonna convert it back to 24 volts because all the factory electricals are still on the truck and i have another 1008 that's still 24 volt that i can pattern after.
I've got to...
One of mine had both mounts complete when i bought it. After walking into them for about the thousandth time i took them off. They look cool, but hurt like h e l l.
I got the HD shackles and greasable bushings from ORD.
The upper bushings are simple to put in. Just take out the bolt and dig out the old bushing. Do one side at a time. I used a highlift jack under the front bumper and had no problems.
Mine also has a rough idle. It's almost like a dead miss. But as soon as it's above idle it smooths out and runs great. I'd sure like to know what the problem is.
