Road trip!
I left Wisconsin Last monday after-noon after a full day of work and no sleep for a road trip to southern Georgia to get tires. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?105207-Tires-mounted-on-rims-16-00r-21-10-lug-50-quot-tall-for-sale I found em at a GREAT price....just had...
Pulled the air tank drain line out and went to the hardware store to work out a replacement. I was getting late and decided to just get a cap to plug it up for now. Picked up a 3/8" compression cap and went home. Turns out 3/8" didnt fit perfectly and it still leaks down, but a LOT slower now...
After climbing a ladder to shovel off the truck, I Was taking my boys back to their mothers apartment with the Big Green truck when I heard hissing. Yup, lost my air pressure. Good thing I still had the hydraulics. Its flat n level and slow speed streets, so I kept going. She stops pretty good...
What size chains fit the 11x20 NDT's? I've been thinking of switching over to commercial truck tires for around town, but still running the NDT's for now. I don't want to have to buy TWO sets of chains! Of course, if I get commercial tires the same size as the NDT's that would make it a moot...
I have the 11x20 NDT's and have been chewing through deep snow easy enough. I haven't been down the road with her much yet, but I hear these NDT's are really slick. So take it slow and easy till you feel it out and get a sense of how they handle!
I had just run her a few days ago and she fired up fine for me. Crashed through a few snow banks at the end of my street that the town keeps piling up that blocks the view of the cross road. Then made a path for my brothers truck to park on the side yard and parked her. but then it was 24...
So my brother gets his big semi truck stuck on the side yard and needs my help to get going.
Get dressed and smugly waltz out to my big Green 20,000 pound 6x6 truck.
Thinking how EASY this was going to be I turned the key....and nothing happens. Hmmmm? Not so easy I guess.
Waddle over to...
straightened the bumper a bit
Bought her with a crooked smile a while back. With one side pushed back almost to the fender.
Finally got around to straightening it out a bit. Used a 1/2" grade 70 chain (and a few vicegrips to keep her at the end of the bumper) and my 1/2 ton 4x4.
Took out the...
I really over estimated how heavy the dumpster was. Didn't need low range and sure didn't need to rev her up. Probably could have idled it back.... but I was ticked that they dropped it on the opposite side I asked them to.
Felt good anyway.
Hmmm? Wonder if I could use her to fix that lil...
Dumpster driving?
Moved a dumpster that got left in the wrong place. Could have used my brother diesel pick up.... but Big Green made it looks WAY too easy!
I've met him and stopped in at his place there. He is good people!
I just wish I had the money to drop on the super singles for my 813..... working on it!
Okay.... maybe not abandoned.... but it has been sitting there for awhile now.
I say maybe a recovery gone bad cause it's just 10-20 miles from the base there.
Just throwing it out there to see if anybody knows about it.
I'll be happy to get a few pics of it next time I'm out that way.
So I was driving through Tomah, WI. the other day. And as I came up to the edge of town I saw it sitting there.... off to the right, behind the fireworks store.... all by her self.
A deuce and a half.
I turned around and drove back to the private lot it was sitting in to take a quick look, but...
