Took my truck to Iola again this year. Met more people and got more stuff for the truck including a brand new 16x20 super and a Hemmt rim to use as a spare. Posted pics here: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?111611-2013-Iola-Miltary-Show
Google is your friend. Works better than the search function here even. If you can believe that. ;-)
But it's North of Waupaca. East of Stevens Point. There's a HUGE car show there every year in July and the Military and Tractor show is the second weekend of every August.
Took my truck to the 2013 Iola , WI. Military Show again this year. Here's pics that I managed to take. Please feel free to add to it! My truck is in the 2nd pic to the right.
This same pretty lady (last pic) was at last years event. She wouldn't speak to me this year either.... :-(
I am in need of ONE - 16.00x20 super single, wide rim (combat rim? NOT hemmt) and intertube for use as a spare for my truck. I haven't registered yet, So I'm not sure where I'll be parked yet. Just look for the old rusty 71 M813a1 on display...somewhere!
While I cannot post a link for a particular item in a CURRENT sale (RULES- READ THEM!) I think It's ok to post a link to a ended sale. Autometer makes a nice one that has the right swing (reads 270` easy to see changes) and temp range (0-1600, more than that and you've got a melted pistons...
Below 2100 yes. Much higher and you will break things. But RPM is a tiny part of it, And is control by a governor on the motor anyway. More important is the exhaust temps at the valves! You want to keep them below 1200`F. If you heat the exhaust valves up past that, they tend to melt. This is...
We're saying that about ALL 250's! These things have one major design flaw. Cast pistons with NO lower cylinder lube or piston "squirters" to keep the piston skirts happy and cool. That means they have to be run mild to keep them alive. Mild means low HP. Low HP mean dog. I have learn LOTS of...
I'll let others, more knowledgeable address the white smoke at idle and the burning eyes part...but ANY of the 809's with Cummin's 250's are going to be DOGS. You have to be patient going anywhere in these trucks. Being Loaded just makes it work worse. Super singles loaded? Forgetaboutit!
You...
That is one nice looking shop there Makincold. Did you build that just for the truck? Boy is it spoiled! I don't even have a tarp big enough for mine yet let alone a whole brand new shop!
I swapped out my duallys for 1600's. WOW, that was a LOT of work!
Read about it here:

This pis better shows the REAL difference in 1100's and 1600's!
A few months ago, I drove to GA. to get some 16x21's (off a MK48 ) I was planning swapping them out for my lil duallys soon so I listed them on FB as I dont have a paid membership here yet. The veterans museum in Oshkosh offered to trade 6 16x20's for my 12 11x20's on rims and 3 brand new...

I have not mounted my 16x21's yet, but I can tell you this. If the tire falls over flat on the ground.... it is a three person job to pick that bastard back up! They are HEAVY. I was told when I picked them up that they were 495 pounds EACH. The rim is heavier and the rubber is heavier. Will...
