Disregard the new starter price, l wasn't paying attention its a 12v starter. If the armature got into the field does that make this one not rebuildable ?
Can they replace the broken nose piece? I found a guy local to me selling a brand new 27MT for $179 that seems like a decent deal.
I'm also pondering just switching to a 28MT gear reduction starter
Ok guys said a little prayer removed the starter and I was able to turn the engine be the crank pulley with my bar. Definitely had a starter replacement in its past as this one has a reman tag. Possibly in 92 at TEAD when it was converted?
Not yet, you were too quick on the draw, I noticed my spelling error and corrected it I guess after you quoted. I figure that's why I couldn't last night because the gear is jammed into the flywheel. I will know here shortly
The nose came pre broke already. Appears to be the original starter. No wires are burnt that I can see and I noticed after the truck was delivered the starter relay was not attached to the bracket under dash but hanging down and its been replaced. I guess when that didn't fix the problem they...

Hope you get it figured out and report back what it was. Maybe try breaking your wall of text down to readable paragraph's and I bet more folks will chime in as its really hard to read as it is.
I haven't changed the belts yet on my cucv's but had the same issue on my Bronco. I ended doing like cucvrus does and drove it to the parts store and had them match up and get me slightly shorter belts. The ones I ended up with were different than what the computer shows for that vehicle...
Honestly that doesn't look to bad, if the frame is still good that should easily repairable with some replacement body parts. The rear would require some body work maybe. As yo your original question does past sell prices at auctions not work for them?
