I'm driving M925A2 from Ft Polk, LA to Port Charlotte, FL if anyone needs hauling or towing that can hook up to pintle hitch. Call or text me, let me know Pick up & drop off locations. I'm picking up truck Sunday 1/26 can drop off same day or possibly Monday 1/27. Like to stay as close to I-10...
Thanks, I agree on the off the shelf but the cool thing is they design alot of this stuff to be taken apart in the field. We took the double check valve apart and it had an o-ring so it was easy to clean and put back together. I'm not surprised it had sand/mud in it after what we put this truck...
We have driven our M925 in water to the top of the hood (about 60"+ I would guess) with no issues in a canal that we nearly got stuck in the deepest part. Ended up backing out then driving forward til we made it thru. We snorkel vented all the diffs and silicone caulked the air filter housing to...
No ran normal 70 PSI in all tires. We thought about lowering all to 25 PSI but didn't want to spend half day refilling tires when we were done. So we just left all at 70 PSI.
Found the problem. It was the double check valve located next to quick release valve under drivers side step. We followed the TM on tests and found no air was in line from quick release to double check. We pulled double check valve apart and found sand/mud had slide plunger stuck in the middle...
Truck did GREAT with duallys! Had other unrelated issues/mishaps at Redneck Yacht Club but no problems with duallys. Helped a little with pulling and mudding. But our M923a2 does much better in a side by side comparison going through the nasty! Here's pics of both trucks and up close with the...
We did that. It's releasing through intake. I've read the TM on it and we will perform the tests to determine if its the quick release valve. Sounds like that's the culprit under the drivers step. Thanks for the feedback everyone.
We checked spring brakes for diaphram leaks. No luck. It appears to be a stuck release valve or relay valve somewhere. We disconnected each spring brake can one at a time. Prior to the issue arising we had been mudding the truck heavily then parked it thereafter. When we started it an hour later...
I tried searching threads but didn't see any answers to this issue. I'm sure someone can point me in the right direction. Weird issue. Truck is a 1983 M925 ran/drove great. Parked it and an hour later went to drive it and the parking brakes wouldn't release. Even using the Spring Override all I...
I'm sure someone out there has tried duallys on front. But regardless we got a 2nd spare, bud nuts etc... and mocked it up for this weekend. We're gonna see just how tough these 5 ton front ends really are.
Here's some mock up pics. I'll add more pics of it in action from this weekend at...
We test towed our M923A2 with M925 with this tow bar and problem we had it didn't want to track real well and tires wanted to roll over nearly off the rim.
This tow bar was said to be medium duty for our trucks but with spreader bar (as shown in picture) it was to wide to hook up to the...
Sorry, don't have pic but I just found our M923a2 was backwards too. looking at the auto engage switch the line running forward should be on right and the line that loops back to transfer case should be on left. It was easy to test, the full time air line hooked up left. The air switch from dash...
Anyone know where I can find light cord (pig tail) to tow M923 with M925? I'm searching threads and ebay etc... what is the official name of the light cord?
We ended up welding hitch again on our M925. This time we found hitch that was same width as frame. Used 2x4 1/4" square tube as filler and welded all together to truck frame. Painted camo and blends right in. Pulled 8,000 lbs with new hitch and did truck pulls with it. So it passed our stress test.
I used 3 KC Hilite 12/24 volt relays. Bought at Autozone for $7.99/ea. I ran a negative wire from 1 battery to the rear and ran that through the relays for my 12v power source. I pulled signal from the military trailer plug. As soon as I grounded the 7 way plug to the truck frame I got 12 volts...
