Thanks for you replys. The reason I asked, I saw a picture where someone used a piece of wire with a fuseable link (from the resistor). Is there any advantage to use that, other than you have it? When I did the bypass on my other truck, I used the positive cable from the removed slave.
Thanks for the reply. I understand the advantage of the resister bypass. I was asking if there is an advantage to do it one way or another. (ex. running from the front battery(+) to the glow plug relay vs. running a wire from the glow plug relay to the 12 volt bus? Is there an advantage to do...
As far as your volt meter goes there is a resistor on the back, it looks like a rectangle between 2 of the posts, it is a 300 ohm resistor and they sometimes go bad. You can check it with a ohm meter, with the truck off, take your ohm meter( set it on the ohm range) and touch the two posts with...
You may want to check if the 300ohm resistor on the back is working. My voltmeter was not working when I got my truck. I changed the resistor and it now works. Good luck
I recently installed a manual glow plug switch as a backup to the glow plug card. I spliced into the light blue wire, took that to the switch and then grounded the other end of the switch. My switch didn't work at first, I had to reverse the wires on the manual switch and now it works.
The glow plug wires burned out(on the passenger side). I plan on replacing the glow plugs and wires. I read somewhere that the glow plug wire is a fuseable link? Is this special wire or can I use any 18 gauge wire? If it is special wire does NAPA carry it?
I also plan on installing a...
