I can honestly say that my OTC works well. The few items I have purchased from Harbor Freight that I hoped to save a few bucks on didn't work so well. Most notable were the C clamps that twisted into pretzels with hardly any effort. It was amazing that they actually marketed them as tools! BTW...
Yeah, I'm NOT rich. I wanted one of these things (yes, I just wanted it) and have to do things in small installments to preserve the happiness of the home.
Yeah, I think I need to angle for the air compressor and welder. My wife has been tolerant so far, but I need to acquire some stuff in incriments so I don't get the boot!
Wanted to update, the deuce arrived last night and the motor freight driver was a real stand up guy. Very knowledgable about M.V's and had a real good eye for the trouble spots. If anybody needs his info, send me a message and I would gladly reccommend him and pass on his info.:D:D
Unfortunately, I'm a mechanic. I wish I were a body man! So far, everything but the passenger's door latch works. There's some cab corner rust and some rust in the bed structural members between the rear axles, but it looks fixable with the right motivation. Darn, where did I leave that?aua
BTW, thanks to my wife (who didn't make me sleep with it) for helping me figure out the pics and getting a few posted... Seems I wasn't waiting long enough for them to upload and just kept clicking on the **** thing. ;-)
Ok, a couple more. To respond to a few guys, I got a copy of the TM in the glove box compliments of Uncle Sam. The 6TL batteries were still good and the thing has a half a tank-o-diesel and runs well. I am extremely pleased so far! The truck only has 2900 miles on the odo and 210 hours on the...
Seems silly to say, but I got my Deuce delivered tonight! My first M.V. I went for a brief drive through the neighborhood and rutted my yard (accidental)and am like a little kid on Christmas morning. I'll take some pics in the morning!:):):):):):)
Again I thank you for your most generous offer. I am happy to know that members are willing to step up and help other folks out even though I haven't been on here long and haven't had much to offer as of yet. I look foreword to meeting you guys at some point and "paying it foreward" where...
If all works out well for me, I'd be very happy to pass on his number to you for your recovery! I spoke with Kevin (decodeme) who very highly reccommends him and hauls all his stuff. Good luck with yours and I hope we both get to enjoy our new toys!
:driver:
Thanks all! I just made transportation arrangements With a guy named Erick Johnson who apparently hauls a lot of mil stuff for people. He's gonna handle pick-up and delivery for what seems a fair price. I like that a lot better than missing work, lots of driving, and unexpected mishaps! Yes...
According to GL, they want you to remove the vehicle within 10 days of notification. I just got the e-mail after I got home from work today. I was really suprised as the folks at GL said that 6 weeks was typical response time on the EUC clearing. It's been like a week or 10 days. I submitted it...
I just got notification of my "paid in full" invoice from GL and will need some assistance getting a deuce home from Fort Indiantown Gap.I live in Fredericksburg, Virginia and would be appreciative of any help anyone has to offer. My cell number is 703-863-1028 and my name is Mike. Thanks in...
I also am waiting on my first time submission of an EUC. How long are they likely to take on this? I was told by GL that it would be 6 weeks or longer. I saw some chatter of EUC's coming back quickly but don't know what to reasonably expect. I have to plan my recovery and knowing the time frame...
I would add my 2cents to the Drill Doctor discussion. I have used mine for years and LOVE IT! I also reccommend the reverse twist adaptor and sharpen up all your left hand twist bits too. I've been a mechanic for 20 years and still use my original Snap-on drill bits and they sharpen right up. I...
