Motormayhem- I have noticed that the search function can be difficult to use properly. What I have found is if you can narrow your search to 1 or 2 words, it will pull up many more hits. Then you can browse the threads to narrow your search.

My Gen 2 light also likes to keep me company and can become annoying at night. The truck charges fine and I have checked all connections with no success.
How does one go about changing out the diode? If that is in case my problem.

I posted this thread in the CUCV forum only because it is the one I noticed it in lately. Since I have a M1009 I mostly stay in the CUCV forum and don’t venture into the other forums to often.

The oil pumps action is one by a piston/rod being actuated up and down by the crank shaft to pump the oil.
Any failure of the oil pump would not be making the noise you are hearing, as far as a, buzz or a whine. If anything, it would be making a knock type noise.

I pulled the plugs due to hard starting this last week and found three that needed to be replaced.
The military had put in a large order this month and the suppliers are out until first week of Oct.
But, when the hard starting began I noticed that my wait light on...
If one or more glow plugs are out, will the wait light and or duration of the glow plug cycle become shortend.
Tried a search, but couldnt find that particular question.

I also had the same issues with my hubs/heating up. The issue turned out to be with the caliper. You may need to grease the slide rails on the caliper, for the pad to release properly. There is a special grease made for that application, but can't remember the name.
