    931 thermostat part number needed.

So over the last couple days I have been noticing the temp on my 931 creeping up to the 200 range. Today i decided to check out the thermostat. Tore open the housing to reveal NO THERMOSTAT......well i guess that is the problem. Anyone got a part number for this bad boy and for the gasket?

Help fast, cummins 250 op temps?

My 931 is getting up to about 200 while out driving. Fan seems to be engaged all the time. When the engine is off the fan will not turn independently of the pulley as a clutched fan would.

    931 camper. The Arrrggh-V

As you can see from the first post, I have a plan in place to build a seperate frame to support the shelter. The frame will have the appropriate give to allow the shelter to move as the truck moves. Most likely this will involve rubber mounting the frame to be built for the shelter. The...

    931 camper. The Arrrggh-V

Noticed today that the 931 was running a little warm. Leaning on 200 degrees, checked everything when I got back to the house and could not find a problem, Coolant looks good, that kinda thing.

    931 camper. The Arrrggh-V

Wreckerman, I took a little break from the internet and unplugged for a while. Didn't really have anything going on so I was just lurking around, watching the hate and discontent flow when people build something against the norm. You know me, I'm all about making the purists cringe. I see you...

    931 camper. The Arrrggh-V

As of late I have had the idea of wanting an camper and a 5 ton. So why not have both in one truck? The plans stand thus. M931 with S280 shelter or other, it has yet to be determined as I am having a little trouble nailing one down. I need a few things from the fellows here if you have the time...

new way to bob rear of a deuce

ir you are using the deuce rear axle then I say, rock on. Great idea. I will say this however, most semi tractors that are bobtailing ride worse than my duece bobber ever did. Even with the air ride and air ride seat. takes weight to smooth them out. i would assume that you would be able to...

new way to bob rear of a deuce

you guys are missing one important thing about using a road tractor rear end. AIR BRAKES. In tennessee and most states that makes it a commercial vehicle requiring a CDL to operate it. I think it is a slick idea for the suspension, but not worth it in my opinion. I have build three bobbed...

A tire question for my brothers in the South

I went with something that has a great pattern wear like iron and are E rated for towing as well. Super swamper SSR radials. i am sold on them. I am using the 37-12.50-16.5's on my 1031 right now and I could not be happier. They have a little roar on the road, but the offroad capability is...

    Fiberglass Dash?

you can also use black felt from any sewing supply store instead of fiberglass matte. comes in lots of colors and is alot cheaper than fiberglass matte. Stretches better too.

    Fiberglass Dash?

I have done this before, but not on a CUCV. Here is the method I used last time and will use again on my modified 1031. Remove the dash and sand everything down that is rough. remove anything that is gonna stick up and look like crap. Get the fiberglass matte that is fine mesh and stretch it...

    Tuff Country lift

ranchopper are you going to replace the rear springs on your 1008 with lift springs? Won't you lose most of your towing capacity? I have been looking to lift my 1031 soon, but want the towing capacity to stay the same, so I am going with rough country springs in the front with steel blocks on...

    CUCV Cargo Cover Opinion

or you could do what I did and use a 101 trailer side bows and cover. Tight as a drum and looks great. Of course I did change my bed out for a 101 trailer bed also......LOL

    New wheels and tires 37s

Look into super swamper SSR radials in 16.5" wheels. i have them on my 1031 and they ROCK! Grip really good in the snow, and mud. They are E rated for towing as well. Keep that in mind when you buy tires if you plan to pull anything with the truck. Mine are 37.5" but I think they make...

    Wont Start

I agree with this advice. Before you start talking motor swap, you may only have a leaky head gasket. Head gaskets are cheap compared to a new motor swap. Plus it can be done in the truck in an afternoon. Check the compression. If it looks good on all cylinders, snatch the heads off and...
