I have had a couple folks come forward with multi fuels at a decent price. Still the urge to put a firebreathing big block in it is strong. I know the capabilities and limitations of the stock engines. Still I have to wonder what it would be like to get a HEALTHY big block shoved in there...
technically no distance is too far to flat tow. It is the same as towing it around the block. As long as all the safety precautions are taken, IE safety chains, tail lights on the towed vehicle and a braking system on the towed vehicle. Coupe articles here on how to use the braking system of...
I was thinking on this today. Very good idea and I think that it would be an easy upgrade. Think I would make up some kind of elbow off of the intake to house the grid heater, then have a airfilter element on the end of the elbow. Would most likely make the truck louder as a result.
300 Inline 6 ? Really? I had one in a f250 some years ago and it was a pulling SOB, but it wasn't pulling 12,000lbs around either. It had a 4 spd trans and i always felt it was sluggish.
The big block gas engine has been used in 2 tons and dumptrucks for decades. The only real guess would be the overdrive tranny. the 429 that I am looking at is not a hotrod it's a talldeck torque monster from a F600 or something like that dump truck. It weights more than the deuce and is capable...
had another thought. If it was gas it could also be made to run as a dual fuel on propane. I have seen a couple 1 ton trucks locally that are running propane.
I also heard a rumor that a stock deuce trans. would bolt up to a big block something. I have not been able to find any direct information on this, such as which bellhousing will work or mods that have to be done to the trans. Not that I would consider this unless it was almost direct bolt in...
yep it's in tennessee Gimp. It will get it's new engine here as well.
Ok heres the math. This is what I have been able to find. Recon multifuel is running about 1,000.00. Add to that the cost of a new clutch and pressure plate ( personal opinion but not doing it is stupid) say 300.00. Now...
I recently bought a m35A2C that has a rod through the side of the block. Rest of the truck is in great shape with a full cargo cover, dropside bed, troop seats and bows.
Money is tight these days and I have a little to spend on this project right now. Question is why go back with the...
M16 you are only about an hour from me on I-40. If you need anything waterjetted give me a shout. I have access to one here in town at a friends machine shop. After hours is project time.
Hey FNG..........there are several of us pretty close to you. Me and a few others are closer to memphis but still not that far away. Plenty of toys always under construction here. Feel free to come get your hands dirty any time. Soon as the snow clears out that is.....
the transmission will work just fine. The transfer case however will not. 205 and 208 t/c's are not interchangeable. Different input shafts and adapters. My advice would be to ditch the 208 and use the 205 case that is mated to the 400 turbo. It will involve a little fab work and most likely...
I just towbar recovered a 1009 behind a 2500 suburban in the rain for 12 hours. Round trip from tennessee to fort polk La. No way I would trust that light weight of a towbar. I have a military medium. You can't look at it and say yeas that will get the job done today, you have to look at it...
cold? IN CALIFORNIA? Now all my hopes and dreams are truly dashed. I mean I could tolerate the hippies, gunhaters,MV haters, crackwhores, idiots and plagues that seem to ravage the place, but COLD I cannot.
