I used an old out if date cylinder. Removed the valve and installed a 1/4 turn valve with a Schrader on the inlet side. Hose to an adapter for whatever pipe size I need.
You remove the valve.
Add a gallon of oil
Replace valve
Pressurize to 50lbs
Attach hose to engine
Turn cylinder upside down...
I adjusted each valve with the tappet on the heel of its cam lobe. Since it is on a stand and out of the truck, you can more easily see it as you rotate the engine.
I have an old lp cylinder I use as a preoiler. I tie it in at a gallery port and push a gallon of oil in. (Empty oil pan) my starter is a few inches shorter than most and I can get to the plug by the relief valve. (I can also R&R the starter without disturbing the distributor.)
In my neck of the woods that would probably sell for around $14,000 after a bath and maintenance. Maybe a few grand more with all the extra stuff if it drives well. It has all of the hard to find (pay for) bits on it. I would give that kind of money for it and I'm a cheap so and so. M38's are...
Took a while but I found a 24v module. Tests OK and came with an NOS vibrator spare and the TM.
Now on to the next step. Firing up the amplifier and making sure it all works. Then on to the radio. I've since also come up with the antenna and base and the remote controls. Soon might be able to...
1 can't be different than 6. They are both TDC, BDC or any other position at the same time. The cam determines compression or exhaust stroke. The 1-6 and 3-4 and 2-5 throws are on the same plane. All determined by the crankshaft.
The "P", I think, is for a separate Pilot indicator lamp. Me being lazy, and having not seen thus post, I just used a clip to mount the flasher to the glovebox side where the original failure box was. I removed the cannon connector and soldered connectors to the wires. Reversible, but requires...
Headlights ground to a bolt on the inner fender by the clips for the Douglas connectors. You could use that to do it. I just used a ring terminal. That wouldn't require tools when you remove the fender for service
He wants to rig up a FLEET of farm vehicles. CB is the only cost effective choice. He can make cool looking antennas for the MV's. If he got a Tech license, he would still be better off 2 meter and simplex. Good 2 meter radios can be had for very little money. A house, office, couple of trucks...
OK, with no license, you won't be able to use any military radio. You need to be licensed to use them on amateur frequencies, can't use them on military frequencies and are not type approved on 11 meter (CB) frequencies.
Just buy CB's and use appropriate antennae.
The only 880 I ever drove was one a friend had and it had a 4 speed stick also. So there must have been a few of them. (His had BO lighting and the 3 lever switch on the right dash panel.)
The waterproof spark plugs have been discontinued. As soon as they were, the prices on fleabay went from $7.70 each to $75 each from some feculators. I've seen over $100 each asked. Not that they will ever sell. S&S quit making wires last year and the price is starting to creep on Jeeps. It has...
