I'm going to be doing some cleaning of the interior of my truck, getting it prepped to bedline the interior. I'll take a few measurements if no one chimes in before tomorrow morning.
...or vice-versa. I've seen several results saying flowmasters flow worse than a lot of other mufflers.
Really, any exhaust is an upgrade from the stock mufflers (which are like bricks surrounded by metal), but still, you can only expect to gain 1-2 HP, at the most, from upgrading the exhaust.
I just bought a 4 pack of Herculiner 1gal. kits on fleabay for $274 w/ free shipping (comes to $68 ea.) which is much better than $99 each at Autozone...
I plan on doing pretty much the whole inside, the rockers/door bottoms/lower parts, and bumpers (I also want to blackout the grill and...
I think just about anything is better flowing than stock. If you take a CUCV muffler off you'll see what I mean. It's like a 30x12" concrete block. I don't think any exhaust will really gain much performance on a 6.2 though, just a little more responsive, maybe a little better fuel economy.
I'd ship it seeing as it's only $630. By my rough estimates...buying drivable tires for it on craigslist ($300-600) and fuel ($200) will cost you well over $600 anyways.
As for the price of the truck itself... Has he not given you any prices or an amount of what he's got into it?
I'd say...
I didn't have anything. The PO's cat hung out in the garage the 1009 was stored in. No mouse/rat stuff, but plenty of cat hair (long-haired, fluffy cat), little paw prints, and claw marks on the truck. There was also a little hairball on the roof.
I'd rather have that than a bunch of...
The "J" and the "C" don't stand for anything, it's just the code letter used in the VIN to differentiate which engine it was. J = Heavy Duty 6.2l, C = Light duty 6.2l, H = 305ci V8, W = 454ci, etc.
There are some slight differences between the military J code and the civi J code. The CDR...
I, and several other SS members, have said it before... General Grabber AT2's. They're good on road, they're a good all-around offroad tire, and they are pretty inexpensive. They also come in a fairly large range of sizes.
I don't have AT2's on my M1009 (I do want a set for it thought), but I...
I'm along for the ride on this thread.
I have the same question, my uppers are a little finicky, and the plastic on the lower parts are broken and there is a small tear in one.
And LMC only has listings for Burbans and 73-75 K5's. :?
I have an MT-1029 base (big one) and 2 MT-1898's (smaller ones).
I also have a power bus like the picture K9Vic posted.
And I also have a whole VRC-53 set-up. Which includes the: PRC-25 (w/ backpack), AM-2060, MT-1029 base, headset and handset, and the various power cables. VRC53...
There was a thread about this not too long ago. LMC truck has the entire mirror assembly for $20. Otherwise I think it was autopartswarehouse that had just the glass, but it's $10 more than the whole LMC unit.
Here's the SS thread:

Well since it's a magnet I'd imagine it would stick to the housing. A lot of transmission pans have a magnet sitting on the bottom of the pan.
If you want a little extra security; I'd use a little JB Weld. It's strong as ****, fuel/oil resistant, and it's good anywhere from -70°F up to 500°F.
You should be fine. I think the civy K5's have a towing capacity of somewhere in the 3000-5000lb range. CUCV is no different.
But yea, a 2" receiver hitch would be your strongest option. And trailer brake controller would be a good idea (if your pop-up has brakes).
Look at it this way...how...
