    FMTV High Speed Gears

My LMTV tops out at 76mph with gears, compared to 59mph without. I am going to put 1400s on in the next few months as in addition to the gears. should make for a nice cruising rpm!

LMTV M1079 M1078 ARB air locker group buy, we need 50 of you to make this happen.

That does seem odd, considering how small the carrier actually is. rockwells are much larger.

    M1082 Max Speed

on the topic of hwy speeds in an LMTV. Hi speed gears is the best thing you can do for your truck. They ARE engineered for "high speed". Sorry but that claim is completely unfounded. The idea that an LMTV or its matching trailer wont handle 80mph is not backed by any amount of fact. Every part...

    M900 comfort upgrades

Wouldnt lowering the air seat give even less leg room? I agree about the rear window. It seems to me, the heater should* work better than it does. If I could just get air from my defrost vents Id be a happy camper. im going to look at replumbing the hvac so it only feeds defrost. Reaching under...

    M900 comfort upgrades

Thats great to hear Wes, thanks for chiming in! my blower motor actually packed up and left this trip, but not much difference there. It would blow air nicely out a port aimed at my feet, but nothing out of the defrost. My old 923a2 also didnt have any defrost to speak of, just assumed it was...

    M900 comfort upgrades

Hi all. I just spent 17hrs in a m936a1, on a truck recovery mission. a few things i learned: when it rains outside, it rains inside. Even with a hard top truck. more heat comes thru the rear slider window than the vents. Seriously. the defrost knob is better used to hang a coffee cup from...

LMTV Alternator Disaster, engine now catastophic

Grab a pick and see if you can turn out the two snapped bolts by hand. I think you might be suprised to find they have no tension on them. A small screwdriver can be tapped to create a slot in the top of the bolt, and can be turned out that way too. No sense in waiting around for someone else to...

LMTV Alternator Disaster, engine now catastophic

It would suck to get two short bolts in, but im confident it could be done. Necessity is the mother of invention and all that.

LMTV Alternator Disaster, engine now catastophic

Ive got the proper bolts and brackets in washougal if you want to get here. Im the mean time why not just put two small ones in place of the large one. Its not rocket science to bolt the alt down, contrary to what you may hear.

    cab tilt hydraulic failure

Ive got the correct Orings and wiper seal in a kit if you need them.

LMTV Alternator Disaster, engine now catastophic

FWIW, id bet you could back those snapped bolts out with a pick or a flat scrwedriver, now there theres no head tension on them.

    Clutch woes FLU 419

Thanks for the reply Rosco. If the pilot is stuck, seems like it would be a bear to try separating the trans from the motor. when i get home, ill lift the cab and see if theres an inspection cover. There sure doesnt seem to be any below. i just noticed your location Rosco. I was in Tok...

    Clutch woes FLU 419

Having an issue with a 419 I recently acquired. I cannot get the clutch to release. originally the pedal felt a bit low, So I bled it. I also adjusted the slave cylinder to 1/8" spec, and adjusted the pedal cam to its fullest point. Now I feel good pedal, but the clutch still will not...
