It was a pop like a small birthday balloon being popped with a pin then instant shut off. The drive train at that speed was still turning the engine but with a steady slow down. It was strange and did not sound in the least bit mechanical. I thought the sound came from the dash however I cant...
Make sure all the air is bled out of the lines. A leak in the line towards the tank getting air into the system or a clogged pick up tube is possible. Sounds like you may have to drop the tank.
Tonight I am going to bring home 2 brand new relays and a 30 amp breaker as there was a 30 amp fuse in that slot which had seen some heat in the past but did not blow. When I tested I used some used ones that I had in the garage. I am going to loosen a line at an injector like scsg suggested...
All I heard was a quick pop and no mechanical noises. I "thought" it may have been a relay as it "seemed" to have come from inside but both windows were down and it was like a balloon popping. In my defness it seemed to be running smooth with plenty of power and fairly quiet. I charged the...
A beautiful Sunny day in Jax yesterday, my Birthday, driving my 09 to meet up with family for an early dinner and marveling at how good it was running then suddenly a POP was heard and it shut down. I braked hard in order to avoid hitting the guy infront of me that slowed down for no reason then...
Down load the TM's and follow the diag procedure. One thing to check that gets overlooked is the temp sensor which does control whether or not the system actuates and the duration the plugs stay energized or cycled. Is it the OEM relay?
Before you replace the guage (unless you have already tested it) drop the tank and check the connectors to the sender and your ground. You may find it is as simple as that. Download the TM's on this site and enjoy your new ride! Welcome.
RE#2. Look whever there is a rubber fuel line (make sure they are not cracked or brittle), inspect the filter housing as they leak, and inspect the IP.
RE#1 Hope the reman pump fixes it as well. You did it right. The pump does however feed the hydroboost and may be having an effect.
What type of fluid did you use? If you used Dexron it may be foaming causing air bubbles. Flush, fill, and bleed first. If that doesnt fix it get a reman pump. There is also the possibility of a bad gear.
Cranking problem sounds like a fuel leak, air getting in. Mine is starting to do the same...
Awesome! You were very lucky. GL "is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get!" Welcome! There is a wealth of knowledge and support here.
ATF is not a good idea in early GM's as it foams creating a whine in high heat conditions. I have always used a mineral oil based GM type or synthetic p/s fluid in mine.
