How do you check these little 4 cylinders by hand crank.. Is there a pressure release valve or other way to help in manually turning over?
Going to take top covers off and put a little lube oil in before.
Sorry but was looking for info on hand cranking or turning over the LPW using my cell...
All I can say is you must have learned learned a lot about these engines lol.. I think I will take look at top side of mine - never heard of evaprust..

I love your way of restating a point.
On a side note I remember when I was missing with my 2004.5 / 5.9 Dodge HPCR diesel fuel lines. I put in a FASS electric inline pump. Bottom line
just get the fuel to the injection pump clean, good flow rate, keep it simple, easy to service, with your...

I take it one can separate the top shell with electrics from bottom base with skid rails by taking out
the bolts / screws all the way around the sides at base. Plus i found 4 or 5 inside behind the engine
"going across".. That and the lift rings bolts.
Any other "hidden" bolts inside stopping...
Well as for this thread i mean a onan or lister peter 4 cylinder. Yea two where open crate - what looks like they where intented as spares. One is pluged and taped.
So that one gets a simple spin the crank and look at fill holes and injectors. The other crate engine is missing the exhaust...
Simple question..
Is the rule - tear down and put back together a surplus / new used / etc crated or even mep gen set
that has been sitting for who knows how long??
Guess i answered my own question.
Ok - anyone find something they didn't think they would find when doing this..
Thanks again z
and yes the flywheel is the same / "color toooooooooo", as the one on my MEP-803 that just came!
The SAE version is not as deep - and if not mistaken as a result does not have the weight distributed on the outer end.
The end away from the engine unit. In a generator setup.
The LPW4 LISTER PETTER 4 CYLINDER = ONAN DN4M-1 for the most part! Correct??
The LPW4 uses a SAE #5 flywheel housing.. SAE #4 is a option from factory stand point.
So if you can get me the measurements of the flywheel in question we can come closer to solving the question of what you have!
Zarathustra anyway I can get a pic of your flywheel in question ? Would help me in looking around from this end..
On other notes thanks to all for your time and notes. I feel like a kid in the toy store with the MEP generators - they are totally new to me.. Never used one or even seen one...
Ooooouch ..... Yea - but the sticker $$$ !! Whats the AV $$ for one ?? Almost thought I was shopping for a 48RE AUTO TRANSMISSION oversized torque converter and machined input shaft..
