Changed the oil and all the filters. Truck started up after fuel filter changes. Ran for a minute or so and I shut it down. Finished service. Went to start it up and it cut out. Checked for leaks/proper filter seating. Okay there. It gets fuel at the IP on the line from the primer pump (at the...
I need to come up with a power converter for my MKT MBUs. I'll have the harness(thanks Mike) but I will still need to convert 110 to 24v. I don't see a need for the slave cable stuff as I plan to run a quite little honda gen set if no shore power is available. Ideas appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
I have purchased an M313 trailer at Ladysmith VA. It is too tall for a dropdeck trailer. A lowboy will work, but it's expensive and as there is no loading help, I'm worried about getting the thing loaded. Does anyone have an 818 or a 915 that wants some work? Other ideas welcome. I have to stay...
Hello,
I can't speak the lingo when it comes to radios. I know lots about cows and trees and diesel mechanics but just about nothing when it comes to radios. Funny though, I do remember the call sign of my best friends HAM station: WB2ISJ. And the call sign of another friend's family CB sign...
I got a 5kw on a trailer and it ran just fine the two times I hauled it out to the woods to do some building. Changed filters, oil, air filter and put in new glo-plugs before using it. Fired up and did it's job. When I went to use it today, it turns over but will not fire. It's like something...
My trucker is very worried that they will have trouble getting a driver in on the limited openings for pick-up at Frankfort. Can anyone store an M818 very short term until Landstar can get it? It's going to VT.
Thanks,
Tom
It was 34 this morning so I guess it's time to think about hard starting diesels.
I start the John Deere 540B log skidder with a home made "hot start" machine, which is a 91 F150 with quick connects on the heater core lines. I have 2 10 foot heater lines with quick connects, and you just...
I know that pictures are needed here, but I only have a camera that takes film.
Anyway, while mowing hay today in a John Deere 6615 4 wheel drive tractor, with 38 in wheels, I hit a sink hole and sunk to the floorboards. No warning, just dropped down in and stopped dead. Quite a surprise. The...
My shop van has been a bit of a project running wise since i got it out of Fort Drum in March. It's a very nice truck with lots of new parts and tires, and I want to get it running right.
Here's what's up. To begin with it wouldn't fire up on its own. I changed all the filters. drained the fuel...
My M818 got here last night. It had the batteries removed, so I rolled it off the trailer and up the hill to the farm. I put in 4 new batteries from NAPA this morning.
I have them connected correctly, but when you jump up in the cab absolutely nothing happens. The lights don't work either and...
I will be needing a PTO for my M818. What I'm doing is mounting a Kesla 203 log loader on the back of the rig. I'll be removing the 5th wheel, and putting on a deuce bed. So I also have need for a deuce bed somewhere near VT?
I'm working on getting one or two M818s, but as I just bought the...
my new shop van came off the trailer with a chain. They drag started it at fort drum and the driver said they "had to pull it a long ways" So we just pulled it off the low boy and then I bled out the filters--getting fuel at all three and no water. But the fuel smelled more like paint thinner...
