I have sets of these for two of my MV's as CES/BII required for wreckers. One set (one plate and 8 pins) for my 1 tonne Land Rover and 8 sets for my M816. These are "Commonwealth" issue; UK, Canada and Australia recovery units.

Yes they can be used for pushing, but mass and geometry (height/angle, distance to other axles, weight etc.,) will dictate sucess. I regularly use half of a towbar (also known as a rigid bar) for manouvering vehicles in the yard - BUT you do need another person to steer. Off road, a rigid bar...

Looking to find some tow bar feet that use the 1.5" pins. I have two wrecker (M816/543/936) single snatch blocks - really good shape. Also have a medium/heavy tow bar - non telescoping (NOT 1.5" pins).

Interesting - I just got off the phone with the folks in Albany that are the arbiters for 'younger than 25 years' applications for historical tags - all others are dealt with by 'special plates' dept. I was checking that I can register my semi trailer, an '89, that is the correct trailer to go...
