I'm a long way from ATL, however I might send my shot-out alt up there and get it re-built if that's something that they'll do.
Unfortunately, there's no place around here that can re-build alternators or anything like that. Very small town.
I ordered one from OD...
I was driving my m1008 back from lunch last week and the passenger side alt belt went south. Prior to breaking, I smelled burning rubber so I thought the alt locked up. Took the truck home and checked the alternator - the pulley spun like a champ.
Put a new alt belt on Monday night. Drove the...
RE: Re: RE: Bad Alternator
Mine have always gone off at the same time. Last week I threw the alternator #2 belt and drove the truck home about 5 miles. My belt came in yesterday and I put it on and started the truck up. The #2 light stayed on until I revved it up. I haven't cranked it again, so...
What store carries Goodyear Gatorback belts? Napa, Autozone, etc? I need the passenger side alternator - mine went south today going to lunch.

I just used a $60 gun that I picked up at Lowe's. I was really impressed with how it worked. I also bought my reducer from Lowes - Zylol, Zylene, Zy-something!! Can't remember the exact name. I breathed way too many fumes.
...You got to do it yourself.

Cause I had an idiot who painted it and added some clearcoat to the paint. The color is too light as well. I'll be repainting it with 383 CARC sometime in the next couple of weeks. You know the old saying, If you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself.
