From the Defense Reutilization & Marketing Service world wide web page Mission statement:
"Small Business Ombudsman. The DRMS Small Business Ombudsman will receive, review and investigate concerns from small businesses about DRMS initiatives and process changes. The Small Business Ombudsman...
Use West System epoxy. Available from boat stores. It is waterproof, and has gap filling properties
The laminate strips can be of a variety of species. I favor white pine. Strips that are 3/16 in thickness are going to give you negligable spring back with the amount of curve needeg for a bow...
They're ACRONYMS, those pesky abbreviations that get tossed around so casually. The military loves them, but can't hold a candle to school administrators when it comes to their use. When I was teaching we had a simple saying when they got thick: "acronyms suck." I find myself repeating that...
I make bows by stack laminating them. Make a quick form, and using 1/4 strips of wood and epoxy, glue them up. Much less fussing around than steam bending.
I did spend many years in the window industry custom making specialty shapes, but the laminating approach for truck and trailer bows is...
Chains will make the difference, not tires. Yes you have to put them on and its a big big pain. And they wear on the hard top. But chains will get you through mud and snow over what tires you have on any day. I have never heard loggers converse much as to what tires go on the skidders, but you...
Absolutely change the filters, but don't rule out air leakage as well. Check all the fuel lines for possible leaks. Just a tweak here or there can make a difference.
Thanks Cranetruck I'm checking out those connection points this morning.
On the weather in VT: Yes 34 degrees in early September. In the winter it spends a lot of time below zero here. Sometimes 30 below. Occasionally 40 below. The farm is at 1400 feet, 10 miles up from the Conn River Valley...
It was 34 this morning so I guess it's time to think about hard starting diesels.
I start the John Deere 540B log skidder with a home made "hot start" machine, which is a 91 F150 with quick connects on the heater core lines. I have 2 10 foot heater lines with quick connects, and you just...
I got legal last week. Finally went to DMV and registered 6 MVs. Here in VT they only title 95 and newer, so they only needed the paid invoice. I'm going next week to get inspection stickers on three of them.
I know that pictures are needed here, but I only have a camera that takes film.
Anyway, while mowing hay today in a John Deere 6615 4 wheel drive tractor, with 38 in wheels, I hit a sink hole and sunk to the floorboards. No warning, just dropped down in and stopped dead. Quite a surprise. The...
I used a 3/8'' extension 8 or 10 inches long on a 1/2'' breaker bar. The extension slipped between the bolts on the universal nicely, and the breaker bar was easy to turn.
You need flexibility between the injectors for sure. I was lucky to get a nice length of it in the bed of a 105 trailer I got. For the other 1/4 inch lines, which are longer, I've been using metal brake line from NAPA, which is conveniently enameled in OD green.
Mostly I drive on dirt roads and seldom over 20 mph. If I take one to town I go about 45mph. If I'm in my F250 I go about the same, just a little faster.
I used a bar to turn the shaft between tranny and transfer to line up the red marked tooth on the gear. Then the head slides right up and off. I guess I was hoping for chunks of metal, but it is in one piece. What I did find was the Tee on the side of the head (left side as you face the motor...
