If you're putting in a block heater then the 1/4 in plug Will mentions is lower than the plate for the heater. There was about a gallon in the block after I drained the radiator to install my block heater.
Well, I've decided to abandon the idea of an M313 in favor of the M146 to make my "mobile man cave" in. So, thanks again for the ideas. And now: does anyone have one they want to sell? I'm hot to get started as the M818 is here and has a lonely 5th wheel.
Thanks,
Tom
Good grief! It's not "against the law" to stand around at an auction and discuss the merits of or problems with a certain item. It's not "against the law" either to say to your friend, "what do you think she'll bring" It is against the law to engage in collusion, which is price fixing. This...
No I didn't miss the point at all. I'm not offering advice on what to do in another state, or suggesting any shady ways around things.. I'm merely commenting on what seems to be instant condemnation of a non-titled vehicle and the seller of said vehicle. Titles aren't an issue here, and they...
In VT, all that is needed is a receipt. They don't even issue titles for anything over 15 years. There is no hassle when you register. So, I didn't pay extra for paperwork I don't need. That surely doesn't make me into some kind of scoundrel. If someone is flipping trucks to make a buck, then...
No, you don't have to pull the pump. You have to take off all the injector lines, and the fuel lines at the "tee", which is your pressure releif valve, and then line up the timing marks, and the HH will pull off. There are some good posts concerning this process. Here are two I have bookmarked...
Looks very nice. We are planning a trailer project as well. I keep thinking an expandable, but it sure looks like plenty of room to work with in the M146. So thanks for posting up the pics.
significance is that there are a limited number of places where oil and fuel can mix. The FDC seems to be the "normal" culprit. If your fuel density compensator is out of the loop, you'll have to keep looking. Some have had to replace the o rings on the HH. It could be the o ring on the shaft...
If the FDC is bypassed, it could be leaking at the 2 o rings on the HH, or at the gear pump. You can replace the o rings easy enough, but I don't think you can do anything with the pump unless you pull the whole ip. The steering column is in the way. There is also the chance another source is...
Carl,
Did you drain out the tank? I think you had a half tank or so of fuel when I unloaded it. I would change the filters a second time and give it some good run time before worrying too much about starting issues. Put some fuel treatment in too. Your little fuel leak could be an air sucker...
I tried a quick shot of ether yesterday, but it still didn't fire. It only got down to about 14, and I let the thing sit in the sun all morning while we worked, and tried again. It was pumping out the bleeder on the bottom of the final filter, so fuel is flowing. I have to check and see if I'm...
Yeah, I'm getting smoke while cranking. The manifold is getting heat, but I'm concerned the glo plugs may not be functioning properly. They don't feel hot, just a bit warm. I'm giving it enough time for sure, but it just didn't want to fire. I put 10 hours on it last week and it started right...
I got a 5kw on a trailer and it ran just fine the two times I hauled it out to the woods to do some building. Changed filters, oil, air filter and put in new glo-plugs before using it. Fired up and did it's job. When I went to use it today, it turns over but will not fire. It's like something...
You also have to plug the line at the HH on the pressure valve, as it returns to the FDC. By passing takes all of a few minutes--easily done or un-done, so you can use bypassing for trouble shooting.
I love this forum as well.
Case, I bought 6902, one of the greens.
Strykerboy, I'll call you later today after I play phone tag with GL and Landstar.
Jeepster, I'll pm you after I figure it all out.
The problem here is that Landstar is charging me for a partial load, so they need a driver...
My trucker is very worried that they will have trouble getting a driver in on the limited openings for pick-up at Frankfort. Can anyone store an M818 very short term until Landstar can get it? It's going to VT.
Thanks,
Tom
