    How does the "preheater" work?

I'm using a combination of starting aids on the deuce I'm running this winter. Primarily the block heater, 600 watt screw in from westy, but also the flame heater. This flame heater is working fine, and you can hear the little pump and feel the multifuel taking off on the flame. It's an...

She won't start in the cold!

The fuel you buy in upstate NY has a winter additive to prevent gelling. You can and probably should add your own to the mix, but to absorb, thaw and attack any water that is in your system. I've never worried about "gelling" with treated fuel from the pump, or in our case the on-farm tank, but...

    VA to VT

I have purchased an M313 trailer at Ladysmith VA. It is too tall for a dropdeck trailer. A lowboy will work, but it's expensive and as there is no loading help, I'm worried about getting the thing loaded. Does anyone have an 818 or a 915 that wants some work? Other ideas welcome. I have to stay...

    MEP002A Fuel solenoid intermittent

I recently had trouble with the solenoid linkage (rod) on one of my 5kws. Its design asks for trouble because it is angled through stuff. After I 'fixed' it, I couldn't tell you what I did exactly. I just fiddled with it.

    M813A1 W/W Headed To Vermont

Earth here. I'm real close, and glad to help out. PM me or call 802-439-6756. Eric brought my last M818 up from KY last month, so he knows the way.

    Preview at Fort Campbell, TN

It is painfully obvious that people can't understand the rules and taboos concerning gl/gsa auctions as they are written.

    M-818 Won't Start

Your control box might be toast. You can override the solenoid on the IP, and pull start it. Someone just posted a few pics the other day on Gimpy's post about starting a 250 in a can. One of the pics shows the override screw. I wholeheartedly agree with BK about no starts in the real cold. I...

    M-818 Won't Start

Check your battery connections for the starting aid. That is a 12v plug and has to be hooked up right--to the grounded battery. If it's hooked up to another batt or in your case the other battery, then you are frying the plug when it's on.

    Expando van trailer convsion

there is or was very recently one for sale in the classified. tmamerica if I recall. The add had a pic of the hitch. It was the M313 box with the push out vs the fold up/down sides.

Need some IP advice on M35A1

I think you might be further ahead pulling the whole thing off and doing repairs on the bench. You're almost there anyways. I have an IP off, and as it has issues I wouldn't mind splitting it and passing on what I find. You might be able to use the parts. We'll be in the shop all day tomorrow...

    Cummins cold start aid

The "glo plug" is a champion that you can get from NAPA. It's 12v wired right to a battery. I replaced the ones in my 2 5 tons. Functioning correctly, the cold start system only works okay, not great, for cold starts. I prefer the block heater. I used NAPA #605-3139-- about $85. Plug it in a...

    Mrs. Earth rocks

LDT. Looks like it was made in 1987 and got to a base in PA in1991. I saw it in a sale that happened over Thanksgiving weekend. She took it from there. It is going in the shop truck, which has a rather important job on our farm. We have a dairy, make maple syrup, cut firewood, and saw boards...

    Mrs. Earth rocks

Yeah, she's a keeper alright. It's a brand new motor. A1 shape. Came out of Columbus. It's going in our M109 as the motor in that is FUBARed--came that way. Very exciting. I have been going out to the shop and turning on all the lights so it shines, and just looking at it. looking forward to...

Thoughts and opinions on turning up the fuel on a deuce

I like NDT tires, OEM filter cans, and the cool little wire that is artfully twisted around the cap on the fuel adjustment screw.
