Didn't see anything like that, I think he's more into utility vehicles than combat vehicles. Troop and cargo transports, etc. Easier to acquire en mass probably.
Does it have the built in antenna? I got mine replaced through insurance after my buddy smashed mine with his head when we were offroading and he wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and they got me the one with the antenna and the tinted top both. Got the antenna dongle from LMC and used that as my...
Also, one of those Goers looks surprisingly complete, considering they were apparently mostly broken up before surplus, and also might be an M877. That or he just has a front and rear section pushed together.
http://www.cliftongordon.com/rolla_yard.php Ok pics are uploaded. First half is mostly stuff that looks newer in the front, second half is mostly where I wandered back into the woods a bit, mostly stuff that looks like it's been sitting there a while. Curious what those two are that look like...
So, last time I went through Rolla, it looked like the Duck was gone but the front area was mostly empty. Just drove through over the weekend coming back from Bull Shoals, and wow. So much trucks. I have pics, will be posting soon, but there are what looked like at least a dozen 5 tons and...
I learned the very hard way when those missing clips ended up destroying shaft #2 and putting a hole in my muffler. They're not pictured in the TM which might be why they get omitted but they're definitely required for a safeand reliable installation.
One front turn signal has always looked white instead of amber, so while I was figuring out why the other front one was not working intermittently, I checked it. The passenger side had a 2057 instead of an 1157, ever so slightly longer of a bulb, and I think the housing was pushing it away from...
Sorry to bump an old thread, but this was a top google result for the part number, and it could warrant some updating. All three of the GM sites no longer ship that part number, they ship a replacement part number. But, it's not 88946674, it's 88946672. Probably gonna just get the Monroe at...
It's awesome the kind of stuff I've missed that's been written since I got my truck in 2010. Glad to see the knowledge and tricks keep evolving over time. I did just order the HELLA headlamps myself, I'll probably just get the harness now too since I'm not _currently_ experiencing any...
I'll give that a shot, I have the exact same glow issue with those accessories enabled, lights on and fan on full causes a faint red glow on the Gen 1 light. I'll clean those when I get around to cleaning the turn signal connection that's keeping the front right turn signal from functioning too.
It is called "post-glow" I believe. Both pre and post glow are condition dependent, which the controller dictates based on its sensor input. On a cold start, my 09 does possibly last near a minute, but I haven't had any starting issues so I just wait until it's done clicking to go anywhere...
You need to slide it back, but not really drop it. Just support it from beneath. Shouldn't even need to remove the crossmember apparently. Read recently that it's possible with basic tools in about 3 hours.
I can't believe that thing wasn't glowing like a light bulb. Probably the only thing that kept the starter from frying the ignition was that it was getting insufficient voltage to even really go to town.
So, from the ignition wire going to the relay, to the starter wire leaving the relay, as if the relay never engaged the 12v hot lead at all? Yeeouch. That would put a lot of current through the ignition.
My flex plate did not crack but all the bolts fell out or wore through after being overloaded. Use some low strength thread lock and torque appropriately. Not a repair you want to do twice.
My regulator was shot when I bought the truck. Got a new one from LMC. The bad one looked virtually identical to the new one, so I'm guessing it didn't last too long. If this one fails soon I'll buy an OEM if I can find one. The teeth on the LMC one seem to be a weak metal and are subject to...
