Finally found a clean, functioning bench seat for my 1028 today at the local pull a part. Got a few other miscelaneous goodies for the truck as well. Now I can take both of my critters with me when I go out for my wife's pregnancy cravings at 2300! :driver: Took me about an hours worth of...
I'd try just a little bit of teflon tape or the liquid thread sealer and see what happens. As for draining, just get a clean container and let the fluid drain into the container and re-use it! Good luck!
I only put 5,000+ miles on it since the lift but I didn't have any issues at all. No binding or clunking or anything. My 1028 has a 4 inch lift and the u joints are fine. No issues with them either...:driver:
I had the EXACT kit on my 1009 with Firestone Destination M/T 33x12.5x15 with the stock wheels. Look at my picture albums in my profile and you will see what your 1009 would potentially look like.
I went back and looked at my paperwork and I definitely sent the wrong link. The actual kit you would need for a 1 ton is Chevy/GMC 1-Ton 6" Suspension Lift I'm sorry I'm so scattered brained. I'd loose my head if it weren't attached to my neck. Hope this helps. You can call the guys at...
check out rough country. they have decent lifts for the $. I used a 2 inch kit for my 1009 and a 4 inch for my 1028 and was very satisfied with the results. for a 4 inch lift it's $349 (Part #: 145S / 150S [blocks]) with blocks for the rear and $499 (• Part #: 256S / 255H [56" springs]) for...
Skinny there was zero bleeding. All I did was fill the filter completely full of diesel and she started up perfectly. It stumbled for a brief second but after that it never missed a beat. I did this to a 1009 I used to own and it made starting it so much easier. I didn't realize how much air was...
yea it's just 2 inches higher then stock. I think the 1008/9's should have come with 2 inches higher and 33's. Thats just my opinion though.
I noticed you're from Xenia. One of my Soldiers is from Xenia. I've heard allllll about that little town from him this past year.
Went to the Autocraft shop at Fort Carson today and put on my new tires and added a spin on fuel filter. They are Firestone destination M/T 315/75/16 (34.7x12.4). All in all, took me about 2.5 hours to do everything. It's always a good day when you can work on your truck and everything turns out...
Well I made back to Colorado from Georgia an I got out to get my truck today. All of the GP's tested good. The truck starts/idles fine. When I put it under load it starts to stumble and smoke just above idle. If I keep giving it gas, it will shift into second and it smoothes out. If I don't...

I'll check the plugs when I get out there in 2 weeks. The truck is already converted to 12v and the plugs were just replaced in February. I might as well go ahead and put a spin on filter while I'm at. I'm not sure when the last time the filter was changed. I'll grab the voltmeter and test the...
