Got mine in today and it arrived fine even with a small hole in the box. I did not have any of the issues top_prop noted with mine, all was well and no solder fragments. I flushed it out before I put it in just in case, but all was clean inside.
Install was easy expect getting the trans lines...
I do not know for sure if it will work but the one you pictured is probably a cap from a current model P/K. I am sure someone here knows for sure. I do know that you can put the current bed on these older square bodies as I have seen it done. The boxes are prob so close it will work.
Picture...
I ordered the noted radiator this morning and it shipped out the same day. What I find interesting is that it was shipped out from Houston and will be here Tuesday (tomorrow). Must be the manufacture or a drop ship location, but I will know the sent from address when I get it. I might be able to...
I need a radiator in my Suburban 6.2L and for $200 shipped to my door I think that is a better idea over getting it fixed. Last radiator cost me only $30, but the shop said it was pretty clogged up in there. Since my Burb has A/C and I use it for towing, I am going to get this replacement from...
Must be the hot Texas summer that loosened all of our ground wires, LOL! :doghead:
Crazy that three of us from Texas had the same issue this summer with that engine block ground.
I was going to get the Mile Marker, but was advised that they are not super great. So I spent the extra money and got the WARN premium hubs for my 84 Suburban.
:ditto:
I had this problem on my M1031 where my starter was not engaging and I took it out and had it check out and was fine. My starter/alternator guy knows CUCV trucks and he told me exactly what markg said (Ricks Alternators in Hillsboro, TX). Before I took the starter out I cleaned all the...

A 2" lift does not require changing the steering arm to be replaced unlike a 4" lift. You can get the lift with all springs for about $600 shipped, or find a local spring and frame shop to re-arch you current springs that would give you about 2" lift.
Welcome, we have a local Military club that has allot of members that can help you locally. We have a meeting this Saturday in North Richland Hills, see the Facebook link for more info.

I clearly stated in my first post this was Fed Williams and his SS user ID: fcfred.
I do not talk about myself in the third person, this is not Seinfeld.
Installed the rear tailgate glass today. It was only $95 from a local glass shop and was a easy install. Hardest part was getting the old broken glass out of the rubber seat seal. Also a good time to grease the tracks and clean out all the dirt. Next I am going to put the dash back in and maybe...
My glass guy came by to install the side glass on the topper and now I just need the rear tailgate glass. I am not sure if I am going to do the pickup conversion, so I am putting the glass in it.
Took it for a longer drive, still smoking like crazy but I have not topped it off yet with...
Here is part III of Fred William's Alabama Army Truck CUCV build. This time an engine swap to a much faster 6.2L engine, but not the 6.2L you would expect. :driver:

Fred needs to post the engine for sale here.
Forget the Dante's Peak Suburban making a movie clone, why not make one for a movie and let people clone it!! [thumbzup] :jumpin:
It was just a prop, but it was the center of attention as the actors all walked by it and looked inside for any Zombies. The idea was that it was abandoned at the...
Few updates to the Suburban, added more LED off road driving lights to the front. They are ECCO E92006 that are each 1365 lumens, about equal to one of my Rigid lights. I happen to have these and figured I would install them on an angle for better light output. I still have the LED lightbar on...
If I asked for a flatbed and the towing company showed up with a boom truck, I would send they away and call someone else. To me one that worked for a towing company for 5 years reflects an inexperienced company that does not send a flatbed for a 4X4. That is just SOP in towing to use a flatbed...
