Hollowman, I only used what came off the K5 it came from. Nothing special in mounting it to the body and as long as you are careful with the weight it should be OK. I am not putting on a 33" spare as that adds more weight and the stock tire will get me home.
Other note on my new aluminum...
Looks great Fred and thanks for sharing. I like how you build out the stock brush guard and integrated it into the winch mount, looks factory to me.
Since the truck is already so modified, does not bother me that it is black. I have a winch on my M1031 and Suburban CUCV clone that are black...
I have no idea what make block heater is in my Suburban 6.2L diesel as it was there when I bought it, but it works well. I have been using it over these last few days here with temps below freezing and truck starts right up with no peddle.
I also use a float charger to keep the batteries warm...
My build post goes over it in more detail, it was bought on eBay. Here is a link to the post where I go over installing it.

Sounds like an episode of Shipping Wars, bidding and shipping on something your truck cannot handle. If he was unable to climb the hill with his rig, should have called a 60+ ton tow truck to help pull it up the hill.
We got hit with a bad winter storm here in Dallas/Fort Worth today, not something that happens all too often. Here are a few pictures from this morning before thawed out my Suburban that took me about an hour. Just let it run with the heater on and it melted all the ice on the side windows, but...
My guess as well, so just go out an buy it as it is a great magazine.
As noted, you can watch the videos four part series on YouTube. I also posted about it before them here...
Never got to do any work on it last weekend due to the cold and rain, but this weekend was great out (11/30-12/1). I did not strip out the interior as that can wait for now. May look into that next weekend. Still have to figure out a way to mount the roof rack, but I have some good ideas that...
I had to replace this on a friends M1009 on Saturday, I soldered the ends over using the butt connectors. Though with correct use of the connectors and heat shrink it is just as good, but the soldering with heat shrink makes it more slim line.
Sorry no pictures, did not think to take any.
Auto Zone sells this with the pig tail for under $20, much better over having to buy both parts. I just got one the other day to fix a friends M1009.
Duralast/Coolant Temperature Sensor
Part Number: SU102
Per Federal DOT regulations, you tail lights left or right signal (which ever is active) will flash when the brakes are applied. This is how it works on all vehicles and would be illegal if it did not continue to flash with the brakes applied. One tail light is on brake and other is flashing to...
That would be a K5 Blazer Chalets and was an official vehicle option approved by GM sold at dealers in 76 & 77. I saw one last year also on CL and thought about putting it on my M1009, but did not.

I have one and it was a aftermarket part that was really cool and...
WARWAG, I did read all the post and I stated my view on this subject about ORD. They are a small business, I would not expect the same level of returns like 4 Wheel Parts, but even they do not except returns on parts damaged during installation. Not saying that is the case, but I can see why...
So why is this ORD fault for a defective part from Yukon?
Yes ORD sold you the hubs, but I do not call Best Buy to trouble shoot my HP Laptop I bought from them; I call HP.
I have and friends have bought some of their custom made parts and had no issues with fit. My friend installed the high...
I added an aluminum radiator back in October from Genesis, but I noticed that I never posted here about it. I did in the below link on the subject. I have now had it for about 45 days and the temp has not gone over 200 even with the A/C on. Been on a few long drives and has been all good...
